I'm just curious, and not trying to make an issue or anything...but with everyone jumping on ordering from China directly from Fast Tech...well...I'm just wondering about the stateside vendors and stuff. I mean...it can't be good for their business. And I know they can't compete with the prices. After all..they are trying to run a business too. Just curious if anyone has any thoughts on this.
Seems like many are eager to support the small vendors and "Mom and Pop" and entrepreneur vaping business as we know it when it comes to Big Tobacco...but have no problem jettisoning them for the China direct angle. Am I just reading this wrong, or ...??
I don't support businesses for the sake of supporting them, I can't afford to waste money. They have to provide price and service to make it worth supporting them.
I'm a very small business with probably as much overhead as some internet ecig stores. I could buy a single Vamo from FastTech, put my regular business markup on it and still match the prices I've seen some places charging. Consider that FastTech is making profit ordering from the same places the ecig stores buy from and that there are price breaks when buying in bulk. I get the idea that some places (and manufacturers) price based on what they think they can get away with because of cigarette prices not what it takes to run their business.
I'm sorry but there comes a point where the "mom and pop's" need to also support their customers by not taking huge markups. I actually do labor to earn my markup, not just buy wholesale and put the item in a case.
I do a lot of "DIY" to save a buck. Beer and winemaking, what about the mom and pop liquor store? Fruit and garden, what about the mom and pop grocer? I really don't see much difference ordering from China when ordering from China is the only service some places actually offer.
One of my regular stopping points is a Joyetech distributor and I'd like to support them when buying an eVic but when it comes down to paying $104 vs $75, $30 is not chump change to me. And if it comes down to paying $104 it's doubtful that I would buy an eVic so it's not like anyone has lost a sale that they didn't already lose because of their (or in this case, Joyetech's) pricing.
When it's saving a couple dollars on an atty or battery it's worth it for me to go more local for the service of faster shipping time.
When buying liquids it comes down to trust for me and I pay one of the highest prices to have that service of trust.
