I bought 2 kayfun 3.1 clones off e bay, they were originally bought from fasttech. They have the brass block for the coil inside the chamber. Since I didn't buy them from fasttech, is there anyway fit me to get the replacement stainless steel block?

Someone else mentioned this in another thread, so i found it on the web, addresses removing possible surface lead from the brass making it safe to use.
Keep in mind they have/had used brass in water systems for a LONG time, also Protanks are nothing more than chrome plated (sometimes poorly) brass, not to mention brass drip tips.
So while its not ideal, its probably not as big an issue as many have been making it out to be recently.
"Removing surface lead from brass
According to John Palmer in Appendix B - Brewing Metallurgy, surface lead can be removed from brass by the following technique:
Quote:
Cleaning Brass
Some brewers use brass fittings in conjunction with their wort chillers or other brewing equipment and are concerned about the lead that is present in brass alloys. A solution of two parts white vinegar to one part hydrogen peroxide (common 3% solution) will remove tarnish and surface lead from brass parts when they are soaked for 5-10 minutes at room temperature. The brass will turn a buttery yellow color as it is cleaned. If the solution starts to turn green and the brass darkens, then the parts have been soaking too long and the copper in the brass is beginning to dissolve, exposing more lead. The solution has become contaminated and the part should be re-cleaned in a fresh solution.

I doubt that you can, but I'd say the original buyer can. He'd need to make out a ticket and give the order number, sku number, and a picture of deck unit. Assuming you bought them from the original buyer, I'd email him to see if he'd be willing to help.
On the other hand, if the chrome plating is applied well it shouldn't chip and should last for years of service. You never know how well it's applied though and it would be nice to have the ss deck just in case.
Oops, I'd definitely check with the original buyer if that's who you bought them from. The one part H2O2, two parts white vinegar is supposed to work though, and if there's any lead in the brass it doesn't leech, so once you get rid of what ever is on the surface you don't have to worry about the lead. Brass does tarnish though and you may need to repeat the process every once in a while.

Yep that would be the piece. I couldn't figure out how to figure shipping, but 250 Russian rubles is about $7.50 USD, which would be fine if the shipping doesn't kill me
personally i wouldn't worry about it, i would have more issue with the plating flakes then the brass parts. IMO the heat needed to leech lead is pretty high.
