Fasttech links go through share a sale .com?

Could someone from ECF explain the purpose of redirecting every link to fasttech, through shareasale.com?

Shareasale.com is an affiliate program; how does ECF benefit from this?

If you hover over the link, a balloon pops up stating "This link changed by ECF". When you see that, that means the link's been changed to an affiliate to help to pay the bills for all the bandwidth, servers, coders, etc., to keep the forum running.

Great idea !!!!!! I will be sure to click on more of them. Do we have to buy the item before it counts for ECF or just click it?

If you're truly curious about the item, sure, go check it out. But it's not necessary to click on each link just for the sake of clicking on 'em.

I do click on most of the links posted on the FT thread. I have gotten some pretty good buys from there and am always interested in what's new. I already have another cart started from the links posted on the thread. Interesting place this FT is.

I use some affiliate programs on some music related sites I own... Just curious how you are able to get around Shareasale's rule for not using links on message boards?

Also is the app or script you use for editing the links a vBulletin plug-in or a custom written program?

Any info you can share would be appreciated. Thanks.
