Fasttech Veterans - I Need Some Help Choosing Which King Mod

I'm going to get a clone of the King (original version) mod, but there are two very similar ones on FT and I'm having trouble deciding which one to get.

There's this one:

$9.60 King Style Mechanical Mod (King Mod, Stainless Steel) at m.FastTech.com

It has 83 reviews and seems to be well regarded, but the chief complaint is that the locking ring is not reverse threaded.


Then I found this one:

$10.33 King Style Mechanical Mod (King Mod, Stainless Steel - B) at m.FastTech.com

It costs a little more than the other one, which is usually a good sign.
The description states that it is made by a different manufacturer than the other one.
It also states that it has a reverse threaded locking ring.
Trouble is, it only has four reviews, and two of them (while praising the build quality) said that the threads are a little loose.

What should I do?
Go with the known good one despite the fact that the locking ring is not reverse threaded, or take the risk and go for the relatively unknown one?

I love the knurling on that one - it looks really classy, but I'm not keen on recessed buttons.

I got one like this, only SS, and the threads are more than a little loose, I don't use it, unless for some reason I get into an emergency position.

They both are really nice looking mods. And both are affordable. The SS one shows an illustration of a complete disassembly down to the locking pin. Very impressive!!

Personally I tend to go with the ones that have more positive reviews on FT, so my gut would tell me to go with the first one, despite the non reversed threading on the lock ring.

Not just 4.5 stars with 20 people or 4 stars with 2 people.
dig in and Read the Comments and make an informed decision as to which should work best.

I have the $9 one from fasttech that doesn't have reverse threads on the lock ring.
Ive had it for years. Was my first 18650 mechanical mod.
Still looks and performs perfectly.
I'll pull it out and grab a pic when I get home.
