My friend and I both got 3ml vivi nova tanks with the three various ohms heads. Im using a segelei z max and he has a provari. He's a vape vet and im a rookie but we're both getting burnt wick taste. I've used the wattage chart on this site and still no sucsess. Our hardware camefrom a pretty reputable supplier. Anyone know what couldbe causing this bbecause this is my 3rd vivi and I've had no problems with my others.

5w definitely should not burn if the liquid is wicking most easily handle 6-7.5 watts with avg wicking. Higher on a really good setup.
If the flavor is better, you might try turning up to 6.5w and allow the wick to heat enough to clean itself a bit.
I normally vape @ 7w and do not care for Hot vapes. 7w is mellow.

At 5w you will gunk up a wick/coil fairly quick from poor vaporizing and liquid collection.

Your juice may be affecting it as well. A higher VG juice tends to be much thicker and does not always wick well. This also happens with many of the darker juices as you use and refill the tank... I noticed in my VV that it can get pretty thick. I fix it by either adding some butterscotch I have that is 100% PG (ie thinner) or by cleaning out the tank and starting fresh... the butterscotch has been a more tasty experience.

That could be it too. I tried to fill a carto and the juice was like syrup. It just sat on the top and didn't absorb for a long time. I also noticed I was having issues with those also but chalked it off to rookie mistakes. Are some wicks thicker than others? Because my other two vv I've had absolutely no issues with.

Post a close-up picture of the heads. If they're the Chinese knock off ones, that's why they're tasting burnt.

I agree that different quality of silica can taste differently, some can actually taste quite nasty. But I highly doubt any 'Chinese knockoffs' are why someone is getting a burnt taste.
