I'm curious as to everyone's favourite set up at this time. I know there's a lot of new goodies out there with all the rba's, tons of mods and general tanks, carts and atties etc. Be cool to see what people are swearing by now-a-days.

I've tried my hand at some re-buildable items but haven't found anything great yet (or perhaps haven't mastered the SS mesh yet). Everything I've bought in the rba department thus far have been clones so that may be another factor.

My vaping career has led me from regular atty's to regular carto's, then to clearo's such as the nova and CE5's. I stuck with them for quite sometime rebuliding my coils and what not. Then I tried a cheap DCT set up and haven't looked back. Aside from trying different rba's with no luck. I know the Z atty pro was highly recommended once upon a time but I never afforded it. I'm sure there are some more economical choices out there now that are pretty comparable. I like the look of this Aga T. I may try that next. Keeping in mind that I'll need to sharpen my mesh and coil skills. Which of course can be helped from the countless tutorials on ECF here or on Youtube. By the way, I know the Protank got pretty popular and so I bought one. It never grabbed me though. I've removed the flavour wicks, rebuilt my own coils and even tried the evod coils. All just seem to leave this "plastic" sort of after taste in my mouth. I love the idea of the bottom coil clearo though.

Anyway, I've owned a provari for quite a while and it is my main PV. I like to use it with a boge F16 DCT set up. I also have a KTS 100 mech mod (I like to short stack it with a single 18350 for stealth vape), Vamo V2, Lavatube V(something) and an MVP as well as a few twists. All these are back-ups and back-up's for my back-up's. Actually, the MVP is starting to get just as much use as the Provari for it's convenience for a night out without needing extra batteries. I also keep 6 18650's on hand. I can't recommend that feeling of security enough with all the batteries. I could go camping for a week without needing a charge. Mind you, I'll still bring my charger just in case and probably a portable power source. But I've always been a little paranoid .

Moral of my story is my fave set up at this time = a Provari/MVP with the boge F16 DCT tank. I'm curious as to everyone's. Feel free to add a bit of your vaping history as I did. Or not. Whatever :2cool:.

Hey rems, greetings from BC!

I started vaping February of 2012 and haven't looked back. I started with an eGo-T kit and quickly moved up to a Lavatube and some Boge cartos. After that it took a bit but I finally bit the bullet on a Provari V2 and a couple of carto tanks. When Provape started selling the ZAP's I managed to get one on day one. I've been using this set up (Provari V2 + ZAP) since.

Genesis atty's have a steep learning curve I've found, thankfully for me I am very good with my hands and quickly pick up on things. Currently I've fell in love with a thick wick made from #500 mesh (I've removed the ZAP's insulator) and a 4/5 wrap of Kanthal 28. Usually get's me around a 1.2 / 1.3 ohm coil. I'll use the Provari's check battery or check atty function to see if there is any hotspots on the coil and do a little adjusting. Then I will set it to 2.9v and slowly work out my hotspots (if any) while stepping the voltage up. I'll usually end up around 4.2 - 4.4 volts. I find this is the most optimal setup for me in regards to flavor and vapor production.

I've been trying to get my hands on a Synthisis or Zen2 to try out a purely mechanical mod and try out some lower ohm coils, but at this point the idea of spending several hundred just doesn't seem logical, I enjoy the vape that I get from my Provari and ZAP. Maybe after this Tax Season I'll gift myself something (if I could ever get one without getting wallet-raped on the FS/FT forums).

Favourite? Oh, I should be so lucky :)

My problem, and has been from when I first started vaping, is that I need a whole bunch of flavours to satisfy me throughout the day :(

For me, each flavour seems to require a slightly different setup to really shine, so I have a bunch of different setups. Probably my main goto, is an iClear30 with Tribeca on a MVP. Juggies' Swedish pastry really takes to an AGA-T, but I continue to have poor luck rebuilding coils. Juggies' jokesmoke is on a stardust -or EVOD - on an eGo. My RAWR truth serum seems to work best on a vivi nova @ 8.5 watts on a SID. The list goes on ......, but it sure has been fun!

The one thing I am sure of, is that the MVP goes with me whenever I go out. It really is a great device.

What's up Zenataos, back at ya from Ontario!

That's awesome. I have the V2 as well and it is simply reliable. I actually started with a Lavatube due to reading that everyone pretty well jumped there after trying there 808 or 510 stick kit. I'm glad I did cause I was able to quit the analogs after my first push of the button. Glad the ZAP/Provari is treating you well. I can't wait to be overwhelmingly satisfied with an rba. Tired of buying carto replacements when I have a couple hundred feet of rebuild materials.

I think my mesh is #400 and my kanthal is 32 gauge. With a 3/4 wrap on silica, I get about 2-2.4 ohms. Which is where just fine for my Provari. I'm also good with my hands and really have no issue getting everything done nice and neat even on first try. I guess my real issue is the hot spots. That's where I need to focus. One little hotspot makes it taste so bad that I quickly throw another tank on. I'm gonna give it another go though. I'm really interested in perfecting it for use with a mech mod. Maybe some ohm or sub ohm builds. Probably need some bigger gauge wire by the sounds of it.

I picked up my KTS for less than 25 bucks. I don't have any other mech for comparison but can tell you it's built great and as far as being a mech mod, that's all that really matters. No electronics to factor in. Obviously won't be quite as nice as some more expensive ones but a great one to try as an introduction. I'll tell you from where in a PM if you'd like.

I feel lucky in the sense that I can stick with one or two flavors for a long time. I've been diy'ing for 6 months or so and have been fortunate enough to come up with 2 adv's and about 3 more that are good at times for a little change. I'm pretty well able to vape 1 flavor full time everyday. It was just recently I came up with the 2nd adv and I had to purchase another tank for convenience.

My favorite is Boge (or Ikenvape) carto tank setups and whatever can power them which is mostly 1000mAh eGo-C Twist batteries right now. Great flavour, lots of vapour, I really have no complaints!. I also drip and have protanks but the carto tanks are my favorite. Juice wise, I like RY4 Double and Crème de Menthe from Canada E-Juice.

Yes, the twists are nice for their form factor and simplicity. I recently purchased a lanyard so that I can where around my neck when fishing.

Smok Natural Telescope,RSST/AGA t2,SScable rope,3 wrap, .7 ohms.

Clouds! I bet
I really want to get into some sub ohm with the mechanical to experience some real power. I've heard of people using ss rope. I'm gonna look into that stuff later. I also see people have gotten into ceramic wicks instead of ss mesh. Also looks very cool. btw, noticed your post about the elevator incident. That is a bummer man. Thankfully you've got decent back up for it. Hope you get it back soon.

The set up i have is mind blowing, the taste and massive clouds from the SS rope is just unbelievable.

Some suggested this:

Ask the maintenance company what the PM schedule is for that elevator in the building, and lay in wait for the crew the day it's due. You could also have them note that you lost something in the log book for the elevator, and they might even notate it for retrieval and return to you without further input on your behalf.

My response;
Excellent idea,i did call them today and i didnt think of that,im not really in a rut as i still have my AGA tank and 3 Vivi Nova tanks,i just cant jusify blowing another 3O bucks knowing the tank cap is accessible and they do come here on regular basis as we have 4 huge buildings in my apt complex.Ill get it sooner or later.I sure miss the RSST tho,i think its hits better than the AGA,im thinkn the insulated wick hole makes the tank less of a heat sink and battery hog.

I used to have three or four PV's going at once with different juices in them and rotate through them. Then I started mixing my own juice. Being able to tailor flavours reduced the need to have so many going at once. Then I discovered mechanical mods running AGA T's with 27 gauge Kanthal at 0.5 to 0.8 ohms. Between DIY juice and this hardware, I'm in seventh vaping heaven :thumb:. I still use Spinners and Twists when out, but my main/ultimate vape is the RBA and mech.

I hear ya. I ordered so many diy flavours myself. Basically, whatever I dream of flavour wise, is only a couple steps away in my vaping cupboard. I love the freedom diy offers. Not to mention the cost savings. It would seem that I need to purchase some bigger gauge kanthal. I have 32 which is fine for rebuilding nova's, clearo's and maybe the phoenix, but to get down to that sub-ohm region is a different story. I like the looks of what this guy did.

Build: Octopus RDA Cottontail Bunny - YouTube

Very creative!

For almost a year now, I've been using the Firebird (Phoenix) bottom coil cartos on a pair of 1000mah Ego Twists. Super convenient, no mess, no leaks, no fuss. I vape light coloured/flavoured 70/30 mix juices so one of these cartos usually lasts me about a month with somewhat regular cleaning. I must have tried about 30 different types of cartos/tanks before settling on the Phoenix. The only downside to these cartos is you need to fill with a syringe, so if you're out in public you look like a drug addict, but whatever.. They're super easy to maintain and inexpensive. I did order 5 of the Vision Nano which should be arriving today to give them a go, but still have a stockpile of Phoenix to fall back on.

My twists are just now starting to hit the end of their battery life (Charge lasting less and less each time) so I ordered up an iTaste to test it out (Just the battery/charger). If it sucks, I'll definitely pick up another pair of twists to replace the ones I have as they've been rock solid since the day I bought them.

I've actually tried those carts. They really are fantastic I agree. I actually just found an old one I had laying around. Kind of forgot about them till then and now after reading your post. If it's the itaste MVP you're referring to, then you won't be disappointed.

I ordered the iTaste VV Express kit (square one, not the box). I like the feel of a smaller battery, not sure I could switch to a box style, although the battery life would be nice to have. I vape all day at my desk at work, so having a pass-through should be more than adequate. I know it's only an 800mah battery. Will see how it goes after i put it through its paces for a couple weeks. Worst case I can still use my twists short-term if I decide to replace them.

Just a quick update.. Got my iTaste. Battery seems to be in good working order, and no real change from the twist with regard to ease of use. Will need to run it through a few charge cycles to be able to comment any further on them.

V-Nano Cleromizers on the other hand.. don't waste your money.. Extremely easy to fill, and look like they have pretty solid construction, the problem is vapor and flavour.. Vapor production is ok to good.. Flavour is seriously lacking, even at higher voltages. Vaped one for a good 2 hours straight, and I can't get rid of an odd plasticky taste.. Will likely use as a back-up if I'm completely out of everything else, but I won't be buying them again. Sad really, because if it wasn't for the flavour problem, they'd be an awesome little clearomizer.

Nothin like a mech and a RSST with SS rope.
