OK so im kinda confused i see people still talking about the FDA still stopping orders at customs but then i just got done reading this which happened on January 14, 2010 here is a link to where the Judge Orders F.D.A. to Stop Blocking Imports of E-Cigarettes From China http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/15/business/15smoke.html So if this is the case did they stop it from being stopped at the border or not ?

As I understand it, the FDA has an appeal to the current ruling (from Judge Leon). This allows them to continue business as usual until after the appeal is settled. Read--they can still seize shipments at their discretion. This should not affect smaller orders IMO, since most shipments are not really specific as to what is in the package. Customs is a busy place, and most stuff just passes through untouched.

Know that you are taking a risk to some degree when you purchase from overseas. What you save in price, you lose in shipping time and risk. There are certain benefits from buying from a US supplier. They have already taken the risk for you, and your shipment doesn't have to go through customs.

I have had no problems so far geting oders from China. My eGo kit is in customs wright now don't think there will be any problems. But I will let you all know if there is, and at 42.00 with free shiping I am willing to take the risk.

you do know that people here sell them about the same price and if your paying $42 from china ur still going through a middle man or paying for shipping heres one from mad vapes http://www.madvapes.com/510-eGo-Kit_p_2705.html they are selling them at like 47 and probly half the wait time i am no way affiliated with them just using that as an example

For 49 buck with free shipping I chose to avoid any risk. :)

If the FDA does begin to have eCig hardware & juice seized or stopped at our borders by Customs, our suppliers here in the US will suffer the most, and will the first to be hit since their orders are generally large and will be easier to catch. All of which means, since all of the hardware, except mods, are from China, that your supplier will have nothing to sell & will quickly be out of business. If you are worried about this, and many are, you should consider stocking up on hardware and liquid. I'm not really concerned at present, but I do have enough of everything to get me by for about 2 years. I would also suggest that you use ECF to investigate mods that are manufactured in the States and use parts, except for attys that you can buy almost anywhere.

Essentially, when buying domestically, you're paying a markup for someone else to deal with the headaches of customs and the potential of being ripped off by a company that's outside of US jurisdiction. It's sort of a "I have better things to do, so you deal with it" tax. I fully support this method, as I do actually have better things to do that track packages through customs.

I have to agree with you on that one!!! I also prefer to do business with an American company...or at least a company with a US location. For that, I'm willing to pay a little extra.

Amen - I have lived overseas and customs can be a big pain in the rear - like when they left the 35 computers out of the overhead cover because they could and all of them got wet. Thankfullly they were well packed and there was no real damage. I am glad the companies over here can deal with it for now - but worry that the shipments will be cut off and we will all be SOL.

Well what we really need is good American made e-cigarette and the heck with China!

The chinese own the patents... I'm sure that all this FDA BS will just magically go away once Big Tobacco/Pharma negotiate the patent rights or develop their own atomizer design, and the politicians figure out how to get their cut out of it. Funny how that works, ain't it?

I've read that the FDA continues to stop imports despite Judge Leon's ruling. Customs will probably not confiscate an individual's order from China, but there are US suppliers that have been targeted and have had to go to extraordinary lengths to get their Chinese orders. Vickie at Cignot is one of them.
