What is a bottom feeder?

I'm looking to dump SmokeStik asap.

Here's a video to help you see what a bottom feeder does. There are different makers, I use Hogwart's Hog mod and love it....he's a newer vendor so I can't find a video of his mod, but this review shows the jist of bottom feeders. :)

I hate to say it but after a year of vaping I am pretty much fed up with it. Batteries that only last 2 or 3 months, atomizers that only last a week and tankomizers that last 3 days. Dripping and getting a mouth full of juice. I loved it at first but if I cant get some decent and satisfying equipment I am going to end up smoking analogs again. Argh!!!

AZVAPS...it would be great for you to come to our Phoenix meet up that we have every month. A group of locals meet and discuss our equipment and juice. We swap juice around. It's an awesome way to see all degrees of equipment up close and personal so you can decide what you might like, what others like, and see it in vaping action. So nice to be able to try stuff before you buy!

Nice group of people...come hang with us for a day! This months meeting is this coming Sunday at 1pm at ECigSupply. Pm me if you are interested, and I will shoot you the details...it's free, and it's a good time!

Folks fed up with the eGo-T's... join the cartomizer crowd. Seriously... I was going to go back to dripping on the old workhorse 510 attys before I picked up some dual coil cartos (madvapes has 'em cheap). The dual coil clear cartos don't look all that pretty, but they work awesome and did I mention they're cheap and there is no guesswork as to when you have to fill them ?

When I started vaping over a year ago I never thought I would be a carto gal, but these suckers on my eGo batteries are really pretty cool.

I order my eGo batteries from Cignot. They seem to have a pretty decent lifespan, 2 of them are going on close to 4, maybe 6 months old now, and as long as I don't abuse them they've been totally fine.

I also have an eGo USB passthru that I use when sitting at the PC, and that also cuts down on the wear and tear on my other eGo batteries. If you want a good alternate setup and/or the stuff you ordered doesn't work out, pick up some of the DC cartos and give them a shot.

I have been happily vaping SmokeTek cartos for the last couple weeks now. I tend to pick a flavor, and use it till the carto starts to taste old (usually 20+ml and 5+ days later) so I get nearly a month of use for $8 worth of cartos. Supposidly they can be cleaned by just boiling them for 10min or so, but I havn't tried that just yet (only have 3 that are ready to try cleaning)

I would get the type that have the exposed polyfil, because you can direct drip them. (not the ones that have an oring and require a syrenge to fill)

I use a Roughstack from Madvapes. it is a $40 3.7, 4.8, 6 or 7.2v tube mod (depending on battery configuration) with a very rugged body. (I vape 3.7v anywhere from 1.8-2.6ohms depending on the juice)

Hold the phone here.

For some odd reason you think this guy's bad experience with e-cigs is somehow attributed to not having a juice-feeder mod so you're trying to persuade him to buy one?

Atomizers that last weeks? Juice in his mouth? Batteries not lasting?

I'm sorry but the scientific method isn't really in this forum's favor at the moment. You've got deeper issues than equipment, mainly your own personal care and use of your current equipment. I'd say an atomizer lasting weeks or having juice caught in your mouth is something being caused by your current actions with your current hardware and will not be sated by something costing you more money that you will probably find wasted due to your issue having nothing to do with equipment.

If you're destroying atomizers in a week then a juice-feeder isn't going to make them last any longer for you. It's something being done by the way you're handling your gear.

As for the batteries, get a cheapo box mod or a passthrough.

battery problems could be from buying off brand or knockoff batteries. I use Gnuine JoyE and have never had one go bad, and noone I work with has either.

Juice in your mouth? With a cart/atty this could be because it is overfilled. with a carto, I only experience this when using the rubber whistle tip. Either put less juice in the carto or get a drip tip (delrin and Aluminum both give me great results.

Short life on attys.... Are they getting cleaned, too much voltage? I like cartos because they are disposable. I run at 4-6 watts, and have never killed an atty yet. I soak then in hot water for 10 min every 20ml or so, and dry overnight.

Maybe you've just not hit on the right combination of equipment .. ??

Dripping has eliminated all of the problems for me. No mouth full of juice or atty gurgling. It is a bit of a pain but it works like a charm for consistent hits. If you have a mouth full of juice, then you are probably dripping too much liquid in there. Also, while I have used the 510 attys with dripping successfully, the 801 may further reduce your "mouthful of juice" issues as it is much longer. You may also wish to try try the 510 XL attys. They are a bit longer.

Not a huge fan of cartomizers. I am certain that if I change my habits around the carto, all will be well. I like really huge TH (hence the screen/username) and when I take big, long huge drags they have a tendency of burning. Some of the dual coils are better, so I am experimenting ever so slowly and paying close attention to the "burn" factor. Clear cartos are great for that.

Long way of saying what Uncle Willie summarized in one sentence.

I agree with those who posted solutions to your current problems with juice in your mouth etc. However, no matter what I did I still had those problems and was getting frustrated also. I got an Old Goat bottom feeder and discovered the simplicity I desired but still had some leaking juice using atomizers. Switched to cartos (Boge 2.0 ohm) and was satisfied with my vaping experience finally. Fill a juice bottle, slap on a filled carto, pocket an extra battery and go. I enjoyed my OG so much I knew this was my forever vape style so upgraded to a Reo Grand and a Mini for their durability. I plan to vape forever so was planning ahead. Had I been planning to stop vaping in a year or so, the OG would have been enough mod to do that job.

Sorry so long but I hope sharing my experience is helpful to you or others reading it. Good luck on your search for what will work for YOU.
