There was a thread here about this some time back. I think it was Mr Godshall, and I believe there were excerpts of some of the funding statements, ie what the CDC funds would be used for, and it was for lobbying non Federal governments and health departments. There have been so many attacks on us as a group that I have lost track of when it was or a possible thread title.

.. edit. Found it

Thanks for posting! The story I posted was seven months after Mr Godshall's post. During this time I guess this has stalled? I wonder If these allegations are being looked into further or if this is a dead issue.
EDIT: I guess as noted in the other post, just calling out the misuse of the funds may at least get it to stop. Maybe thats all that can really be done.

I sent all that information to Melissa Vonder Haar and Mitch Morrison back in August (when I posted it on ECF), and I did an phone interview with Melissa several months ago about the CDC funding state and local health departments to illegally lobby to ban e-cigarette sales and use, to ban sales and use of dissolvables, and outdoor tobacco use bans (including e-cigs) at parks, other goverment property and on property of healthcare facilities.

Don't know why I wasn't quoted in her articles, but I'm very pleased she followed up on our interview and wrote these articles.

I also submitted testimony to the Philly Board of Health informing them that their proposal to require signs at tobacco stores clearly violated the Federal Cigarette Labeling and Advertising Act. But I wasn't aware (until now) that the Philly Health Dept had received a grant from CDC to promote that unlawful regulation.
