I have a madvapes Maxi RoughStack that I've been using at 3.7v. It's my main vape for a variety of reasons. Namely it's rock solid, takes huge 3000 mah 18650 batt's, 510 threading, and it fits my hand nicely. It does look like a miniature pipe bomb, but I don't care about that.

I've been wondering about a backup rig that takes the same batteries, chargers, and atty's since I've been stockpiling these supplies. I also want something that's reasonably priced. My search brought me to the Indulgence. With the extension cup it'll take my batteries. It also comes with caps for KR808-D1/901, 401, 510, and 801 so it'll take any of those threadings. All for $59.95, and $19.95 for the extension cup to take 18650 batt's.

Here's a link:

Indulgence V2 (Titanium) [VJK003] - $59.95 : VaporJunction, E-Cigarette Supply

My question is, Does anyone have any experience with this model? If so how's it performing for you? Are there any drawbacks in the design?

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

I have only had two things happen since I got my Indulgence. The first is that the 801 and the 401 caps wouldn't screw on to the button section. VaporJunction was very good about working with me on this and sent me replacements immediately. The second 801 cap they sent also wouldn't attach, so they sent me a 510>801 adapter. I'm happy with that decision. The second problem just happened, and the button section started to smoke. It could be that juice somehow got in there, but I emailed them and they sent a replacement for free. I just got it today and I'm back to vaping with it again.

In my opinion, it's still a solid PV, even with the problems. It's easy to use and produces consistently. The button is clicky and it fires every time. It's light weight, fits well in my hand and I love all of the options. The only thing that I really didn't like is the length of the PT cord. It's too damned short to use in front of my computer, but on the up-side, it's perfect for use in the car!

VaporJunction has been extremely polite, helpful and apologetic with the problems. I bought it in December, so there's no way I can complain about them or about this PV!

I like my Indulgence because of the interchangable caps for it but there's a couple of things you need to be aware of.

First thing is when they plated mine they did not go back and clean the inside of the tube so had some contact issues until I discovered it and cleaned it with steel wool.

Second thing with mine is it has a fairly high internal resistance so forget trying to use a standard 3.0 ohm atomizers on it. I have used some 2.5 ohm atomizers but still a little cool for me. Just got some 2.0 ohm atomizers but have not had a chance to try them out yet. I believe they will work fine but will have to get back to you on them in a few days.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

One of the reasons I was seriously considering the Indulgence was the fact that they give you all those caps so you can use all the popular threadings. The reviews I read said it was not very durable, as in don't drop it or you're asking for trouble. Not that I drop my PV very often, but it can happen. The RoughStack on the other hand seems so durable that you could run over it with a truck and it would still work fine, but it's not a very classy looking hunk of metal. That's another reason I was wondering about the Indulgence, it looks pretty nice.

I'll have to think about it a bit before I make a decision.

I have a rare Gold Indulgence and its a good performer, I also use a terminator on it to make it a VV Device. I had it for some time now and rarely use it but its been good to me. Another decent mod for the price is the Omega, it has a very uniquely designed floating pin push down top cap switch that is pretty cool, it also holds your 18650's, 17670's as well as 123a's as well as 16340's all in one unit, without having to worry about switching cups like the Indulgence and is made right here in the good old USA and much more sturdy, well built and will last you a lifetime, it's about 3/8" smaller in height then the Indulgence and a lot thicker, of the two if I was going to buy one, Omega would be my choice for a few reasons but an Indulgence is an OK pv, just my $0.02, you asked. hahah

I have both the Indulgence and the MiniRoughStack. Both Have worked fine for me and are both fairly inexpensive. The RoughStack is shorter by quite a bit, the Indulgence has more options and comes in a more complete kit.

In all fairness, I did not order anything other than the base unit with the Mini since I have lots of batteries and adapters so I did not price it out with the same options.

Both are all mechanical devices, so they should stand up to physical abuse well, but I don't plan on throwing either on a concrete floor to find out which will hold up better.

One could argue design and ergonomics. The Mini is not quite as obstrusive in public; I like the switch a tad better on the Indulgence.

For a fixed voltage PV with the option to go to higher voltage, I do not think that you would be sorry with either.

I ended up getting a Silver Bullet from Altsmoke toward the end of February. The Maxi Roughstack is now relegated to backup duty. The SB is built much better, the switch is a lot nicer, and it's just heavier duty overall. I thought the Roughstack was solid but the SB is one huge chunk of metal. I've also been educated since I started this post a couple of months ago about batteries. It turns out those 3000 mah Ultrafire's are low drain. When I got the SB I bought some 2600 mah high drain's and they perform much better. They give a noticeably bigger hit and last just as long as far as I can tell.

After reading up on the Indulgence it seems like they're kind of hit or miss as far as quality. The price is right and the adaptability is great, but I didn't feel confident enough about it to buy one. I suppose as a backup rig it would be OK, but I figured I'd just spend the cash on something with a solid reputation. Besides, Altsmoke is right down the road from me so I just drove over to look at them, picke one out, and drove home with it.

If one were to add up all of the so-called complaints on the Indulgence COMPARED to other units, it really does not amount to much. If there have been problems, the fixes have been simple to implement. My Icon which costs 2x as much has given me many more problems, if one can call them that. Niggling stuff really! But that is the way it is in the vaping world. I personally hate egos (8 failures, two catastrophic with smoke and extreme heat. No, it was not due to a shorted atty) and Rivas (3 switch failures). There are lots and lots of people who love them.

Look, I am not going to say that the Indulgence is a fantastic unit, but it is a good utilitarian PV that works and offers excellent value for money. To compare it to something that costs twice as much is really dumb, unless the more expensive unit offers more feature/benefits such as regulated circuitry, adjustable voltage, feeding systems, etc.

My ProVari Black is a beautifully made unit but costs a lot more than a SB and 3x more than the Indulgence. The fit, finish, and styling certainly is on the same level as the SB but also offers feature/benefits that make the SB appear as if it belonged in the Stone Age of vaping.
