Cue up the Nina Simone...

I wanted to share how amazing I am feeling. And I'm feeling good!

My story: I am a 30-year-old woman who had smoked since I was 16. So yeah, nearly 14 years, almost half of my life. I have stopped smoking before, for up to seven months, but it was always very emotionally strained. I would sink into depression, try to run to counterbalance it and somehow unravel to a histrionic mess. I had tried many things: patches, nicotine inhalers, gum, lozenges, aversion therapy, Zyban, and massive amounts of exercise. I felt like an emotional wreck every time.

vaping is different. I started vaping on 2/11/11. My sister had encouraged me to check it out for over a year, but I knew there were a lot of scams out there and didn't make the time to do the research. I struggled with stopping analogs completely until I got some great advice on here. I found out what works for me: dripping in an eGo 1000 mah passthrough and varying my nicotine levels from 0 (before bed) to 36, and leveling out at about usually vaping 16. I also needed to try a variety of juices to find some really good ones that I like from the best vendors (especially Vaperite... OMG!) I also had to taper down the analogs, I think because of the MOAIs and my sensitive neurochemistry.

It's been 9 days since my last analog. I was at a birthday party/bonfire last night and really wanted an analog. So I lit one up and could only take a drag. It was repulsive. This happened with my last cig that I started the 9 days with. I had to brush me teeth immediately after a couple drags. I can't smoke anymore! And it feels fantastic!

My body is feeling better. This week I was tired and low energy and forgot to take my lysine supplements and started getting cold sores. The detox sucked, but less than in the past and I am so gratefully my body is healing itself so rapidly. But all of a sudden, something switched and I feel this RUSH of energy and the cold sores are healing in warp speed. I can feel more vitality.

I have stopped smoking before, but this time is different. It isn't an emotional roller-coaster, and I feel really stable and amazing. I truly believe that I am done with smoking analogs.

Thank you to everyone here for making this such a supportive place. I appreciate it and may have given up on PVs without its/your existence. Seriously. THANK YOU!

:headbang:

The freedom and energy IS amazing, isn't it? I went to the Dr. on Friday, and my heart rate is a stable 36 bpm, down from 60 something 3 months ago. Blood pressure is a beautiful 120/80, down from 160/104 3 months ago. My Dr is thrilled and so am I! It was a combination of medication and e cigs that got me that result, but I will take it! Haven't gained any weight, and the not smoking part of it has been practically painless!

Yes, it's incredible! I haven't gained weight either, maybe lost some, but I'm starting to be more active again and eat healthier too. :)
