With many of the new toppers coming with adjustable air flow, with the advent of things like the Kanger subTank that pretty much need higher power for a good vape, yes. The extra power is necessary.

If you're happy vaping at lower power levels (and many are - even with rebuildables I rarely go over about 10 watts with single coil devices), not so important. So an MVP2 on close-out could fit your needs very well.

It's more of a user choice related to their vaping wants, rather than a "must have."

But if you're looking at dual coil toppers, might be worth it. And maybe keep "future-proof" in mind
