Hey guys,

I used to vape pretty regularly on 12mg liquid and I quit a few months ago. A week ago I purchased one of those Logic starter kits with refills at 24mg. A few of the days I would hit it too hard and get faint and spacey for an hour or 2. Problem is last time it happened was Saturday and it still hasn't fully went. I feel confused and spacey and disconnected from the world even though I can do everything normally.

It's making my life hell and I feel like it's gonna be permanent and I have bad anxiety which is making me have panic attacks.

Has anyone been through similar or have any advice? My doc just gave me Xanax to relax.

This used to happen to me when i'd pull a double cigarette on a 10 minute break.

Too much nicotine and not enough oxygen. If it's still happening it might be because you're still hitting it too hard.

Try to relax, take a break, hydrate, and take some deep breaths. If it keeps up, see a doctor.

I threw it away the day it happened and had been drinking that night so done some hookah too and felt fine. Ever since I have just felt like a dizzy confused feeling and disconnected and my eyes get really tired. It's a nightmare, I have had this feeling before but it never lasted more than a few hours.

Has this happened to anyone for this long?

Could it be from something other than the e cig? Hookah, drinking, etc?

I don't think so, it started on Sat afternoon, I hadn't been drinking then and felt fine, I was vaping and cleaning the house and I got like a spaced out feeling and it never fully went, I felt like out of body spaced out and it calmed down a bit but I never fully got back to 100% Now i'm in a panic every day because I just feel that dizziness and confusion from it still.

I'm an Irish guy so i'm pretty much able to handle my drink and don't drink anything other than beers. Hookah and analogues have never been an issue for me, I smoked analogues for 10+ years and hookah for the past 2.5 without issue. I only drank and had hookah on sat to block out the dizzy feeling from the ecig

I am not at all familiar with the product you took but it would seem that whatever it be it would be wise to drink plenty of water. By plenty I mean one eight ounce glass every hour. If by chance you experienced some form of allergic response or overdose of nicotine your
best bet is plenty of liquids to flush your system and some nice deep breathing to help you relax - good luck with it.

also if you are not accustomed to taking Xanax you may be feeling some effects fro that.

Thank you. I will try that as I am always thirsty now too. I haven't taken the Xanax yet, I really don't want to.

Today is Thursday. Without knowing for certain I would venture to guess the nicotine is out of your system by now. I'd go see the doc again or take the Xanax.

I think it's safe to assume though that the vape hasn't caused some sort of brain damage though right? I mean they sell those logic cigs at every news stand in New York!

With the name I am using online I cannot answer any questions about brain damage... if you are concerned go see the doc.

I did today, he said it is anxiety and gave me Xanax and a referral to a shrink, I don't think he had a clue TBH I just thought I would come check here if anyone had experienced similar with a nic overdose.

I have never had a nic overdose but I agree with Sir, your body would likely have absorbed and excreted excess overdose by now - if you are feeling extra thirsty pay attention and up your water - if you are having panic attacks breathing into a paper bag closed over your mouth and nose can be helpful sometimes - I forget the science behind it but something to do with acid base balance in blood stream. the point is - IF YOU are worried -seek medical help and heh a shrink is okay some of them can be kinda cool ;)

You're experiencing anxiety. You probably have an underlying panic disorder and this experience triggered it. Dizziness, clouded thoughts, disconnected felling are all examples of symptoms of anxiety. You should take the xanax and see if that relieves you, and maybe that'll convince you that you're physically fine. What happens with acute anxiety is that you concentrate too much on your body's functions, and that alters your breathing pattern, which causes you to take in too much or too little oxygen, which gives you a symptom. That symptom acts as proof of something physically wrong with you, which heightens your anxiety, which further alters your breathing and psychological state. So take the xanax, or concentrate on the fact that you've been to a dr and you are physically alright. You probably got a little nicotine sick, but that can't kill you.

They say 60mg can kill somebody, but that's been disproven and there's a story of a person who drank 1000mg of nicotine to kill himself and he didn't die so the estimates on death aren't accurate at all. You need to calm yourself down and stop focusing on your body. Anxiety is crippling psychologically, and can play tricks on how you perceive your physical state. Nicotine can't cause brain damage, but all your symptoms point to anxiety. If nicotine could cause brain damage there would be many brain damaged smokers out there. Nicotine is actually a very benign substance, and there's little to no risk involved with it directly. Cigarettes are very bad for you because of the delivery system, not the nicotine itself. There are actually many cognitive benefits from nicotine if anything.

When you breath too much you bring in too much oxygen, and the pH in your blood is too high. That's what causes the cloudiness and whatnot. The paper bag brings in more carbon dioxide, which lowers your bloods pH to what it should have been if you were breathing normally. When you work out and breathe heavy, you are burning off oxygen. You're breathing heavy to bring in more oxygen. But when you're panicked and breathing heavy with no way to burn it off your blood becomes toxic. You can't die from panic, you'll just pass out. It's your body's natural way of protecting itself. When you pass out, your breathing gets shallow and you absorb the excess oxygen.

I've not had anything like that ever happen to me, even when I used to over-nic myself when I first switched to vaping.

I can only tell you what I would consider if I found myself in the situation you are in. I would get another juice at 12 mg/ml nic like the one you used to vape that didn't give you trouble. I would also consider trying the Xanax for a little while to see if that would help in the interim.

I've been around for a bit more than three years now and no-one that I know of has ever had any permanent injury from vaping in a safe manor. There have been cases of allergic reaction to various juice ingredients and coil wire materials that stopped once the cause was found. There have also been a few people who had problems with vaping they could not figure out and they quit vaping. That's it.

Best of luck with it Mike :thumb:

interesting I recall many , many years ago having a severe enough panic attack that I went in to some kind of spasm hubby stopped at fire station they whomped on a little O2 and I was fine. I have often wondered if smoking helped me regulate troublesome breathing patterns anyway thanks

Yeah eventually a full blown panic attack will end with lobster hands... Where all your muscles tighten up and spasm, and your hands lock in a weird position cause all the blood is rushing to your heart. You're in such a fight flight situation that you're basically prepared to lose a limb.
