Just spent two hours trying to educate some Facebook friends that shared the "Selling poison by the barrel" post if you saw it. After the two hours all parties involved, third party arguments included, step off their soap boxes and conceded my arguments overcame their uneducated opinions regarding the nicotine scare article. Yes the truth can prevail.

This maybe posted in the wrong spot, but they all accepted vapers are not the Devils spawn bringing death and destruction to society. Yea for truth and debate.

Good job -- give 'em both barrels...:vapor:

Nicotine, when in doubt resort to actual science....:)
How much nicotine kills a human? Tracing back the generally accepted lethal dose to dubious self-experiments in the nineteenth century - Springer
The lethal dose of pure nicotine is also difficult to determine, because it easily decomposes a bit and, on the other hand, mostly contains more or less water; however, in accordance with the severe symptoms evoked in several experimenters by 0.002–0.004 g it is certainly not going to be higher than 0.06 g.

It is beyond any doubt that this short, not particularly convincing paragraph represents the genuine origin of the lethal nicotine dose we still refer to more than 100 years later.

The OMG news articles and posts are relying on nicotine studies done in the 1800's (this even includes the CDC)

From the :
2012 Annual Report of the American Association of Poison Control Centers ’ National Poison Data System (NPDS):
https://aapcc.s3.amazonaws.com/pdfs/annual_reports/2012_NPDS_Annual_Report.pdf

Looking at their numbers, about 5% of tobacco/Nicotine poisonings reported were due to e-cigarettes, or e-liquid. In fact more adults were reported in the e-cig category than <5 children. Of the e-liquid reports 4 were under 5 and 4 were over 20, and the grand total was 12 for the whole country. Only one death reported from
a 29 y/o male was found by EMS to be in cardiopulmonary arrest with a suicide note indicating that he had intravenously injected himself with eLiquid

Thanks, I'm hoping the NJ moves today were something more than our usual partisan squabbling, the D's in the legislature opposing an R Governor is not unusual here, not necessary what the people want, or even what's needed.....

Sorry if it's OT, but what happened in NJ today? Is there a link? Looked in Legislation News but couldn't find anything relevant...
