So iv just started smoking a e cigarette. Bought a cheap one and now. I'm looking to get a better one.
I'm looking for:

Needs to have a good amount of vapor ( cheap one I have now does not)
one with a good battery (I have more of a habbit of holding it rether then the nicotene.)
I think I would like the refilable cartridge's ( pros , cons or experiences)

Any help or an idea of what product to look into would be great.
Thx, Mar

I've only had one, so I can just tell you about that-

I have a Joye ego I got at liberty flights. Purchased it with 2 boxes of cartos, drip tips and an extra batterty and I was good to go for about $60.00. I love it. Haven't smoked since I got it. My battery lasts almost all day and I just top off cartos.

For my Mom, I purchased a Smoke Tip (2 piece with cartos) a Riva ego and a starter kit from Vapor4Life (also 2 piece). Of the three, she prefers the kit from V4L because it's thin, easy to use and resembles a cig and she says 'smoother' than the Riva. I don't care all that much about the way it looks.

for long lasting bats you can go with an ego, riva, leo, or any other "fat bat" style e-cig, if you want one that resembles a cig then you can look into a 510, 901, kr808d-1, the 808 is a 2 peice design but it is still easy to refill(uses a cartomizer rather then an atomizer) the 808 also has an XL bat that will last longer then the stock ones but not as long as the riva, ego or leo, you have to decide what you want and then do a give and take secerio, best of luck, have a good day!-)

1. Buy manual batteries

2. The 2 most often recommended

It's a about 1mm fatter than a cig and 120mm long but Vapor4Life.com -it's a KR808D-1, the most popular 2-piece unit. I am on my 6th day of using the same cartomizer (I am refilling it with another brand of juice - a nice Backwoods Brew Vanilla)

A bit slimmer is a Joye 510 but 510's battery life is about 2/3 or less that of the Vapor4Life standard batteries. (i.e about 2-3 hours vs 3-4 or more for the KR8 - I actually get 4-5+ out of a KR8 the way I vape). But if you get Joye 510 mega batteries (longer and same 280mah as KR8 standard batteries) and use a cartomizer on them (instead of atty and cart) then you would have a slim 130mm ecig (looks slimmest in black).

There are PCC (portable charging cases) for both KR8 (a flat heavier metal case - hold one battery and 2 cartos) and 510 (2 sizes - one for regular and one for mega batteries - each may hold 2 batteries with one charging? and several atties/carts or cartos)

Comparison

3, If you are a heavy smoker especially of full strength cigs, or need extreme battery life of 6-8 hours, then you may want to skip the slim cylindrical ecigs and get a fat battery model like Ego, Riva 510, Vgo, Ego-T, Elegant Easy (KR8 type from Cigeasy) etc

go with the intermediate and long standing champ... eGo or eGO clone... Tornado, Riva, ect... get cartomizers, learn how to refill, sample juices, and learn to drip with some 1.8 to 2.0 (Ohm resistance range) LR 510 and 306 atomizers.

tip: get small samples from recommended juice vendors... this can get way expensive if you get juices you don't like.

Better yet, lets just get em straight to a GG or darwin....Did you seriously recommend a new person get an ego, use a LR atty and a DT, all while suggesting cartomisers?.....:facepalm:

Let me clarify...If OP can explain what cartomiser, DT, LR, and what 1.8-2.0 signfies, ill consider myself put in my place.

Yep... by the piece: ala carte: eGo (or clone) batt /charger/ cartomizer = $25-30 (cone not needed) or the kit.
Add an atty and juice sampler.

What's so hard about an eGo and a cartomizer?

vs... ?

Ill assume your first kit was an ego with LR atties and a DT, and it was smooth sailing, my appoligies.

no need...
and quite the opposite... a rip off auto kit that took 6 hours to charge and vaped about 1 hour...

i wish someone had steered me to an eGo.

actually with the right instruction, "2 to 3 drops... press the button and inhale"... lol... i assume we're talking "beginner": confirmed tobacco addict... they'll want to get down to bidnez.

I'd agree with all these, I personally started with the "VaporKing" from V4L and still love it. Manual batteries are great if you don't mind having to push a button before inhaling. Can't go wrong with an Ego either though.

I'm pretty impressed with my Mom's VaporKing. Looks good, good TH and XL batteries really last. She's really happy with it - this week. This is her third pv in a month.

Unless it is personally requested, or at least its attributes, I'll NEVER recommend and ego as a first kit. Mega 510, or 280 mah 808, sure thing. Ego is way to much to take in without prior knowledge of the industry, and ugly as sin to boot, till you learn what a true e cig love affair will make ya buy :p

What do you recommend to someone new?

What do you recommend to someone new?

Best if you have info on smoking habits and lifestyle first, but if not, a mega 510 kit or 808 kit will suffice. Once they get a little experience with that, they can determine if they need more kick, battery life, etc, and also have a grip on sacrificing looks or size to attain it. But a large number of ppl are quite happy with those 2 models. If they are to follow in my footsteps and have a dozen models, going straight to big boys wont save em money anyhow, but it WILL save em a few unsavory comments from friends and family that have never seen an e-cig, and perhaps avoid a situation that doesnt need to exist. New ppl need to get comfortable with their new habit first. They wont have a leg to stand on the first time someone says "thats thing is so ugly and full of carcinogens, and its illegal anyhow"....Vets can throw the book at ppl in a heartbeat and have em in the fetal position beggin for mama...but new ppl already fear the transition. No need to make it harder on them as they look to the vets for guidance, not a speed walk through THEIR autobiography in vaping. Let em dip a toe in, we know they will like it, but if you chuck em overboard they will get so scared of the situation, they can't possibly focus on the benefits.
Now if they ASK about bigger and better, by all means show em the ropes...Until then, no college textbooks for kindergardeners. 510 and 808 hold value, easy to handle and get used to, easily upgraded, and plenty of vendors for parts. Thats all you can ask for to get started.

That's what I am mostly vaping - Joye 510 mega manual battery with carto, and Vapor4Life (KR808D-1) with carto. I refill the cartos. Got 6 days out of one so far.

I was a lights smoker, 1.5-2 PAD. After 2 months on 16-18mg just went down to 12mg.

I was not a hot heavy dragger of cigs. I was a slow dragger and took my time (unless I was out in the cold). People who need or want a bigger hit or the most flexibility or the longest battery life need the fat battery models.
