Title say it all, I'll try to make this quick.
I got Nature's Falvors 'organic' Peach and Bavarian Cream, but when mixed I get a very displeasing taste, doesn't taste like either one at all, why is that? Is it because I need to steep them first? Also they are concentrates, which is what I was told to get.
After filling out the calculator and mixing the ingredients my bottle was only half full. I have a 10ml bottle and I set the calculator to 10ml. Lol seriously, what gives.
Lastly, exactly 'how' worried should I be that my concentrates may contain diacetyl. On the website it doesn't specify whether or not it contains it. But after reading a few threads here, I'm pretty concerned.....

Thanks.

Sounds like your measuring is off. Do NOT measure by drops. It is highly inaccurate. Use a syringe or graduated cylinder. Make sure you are reading the markings correctly.
This may be a cause to your displeasing taste. Also, you may want to cut down on your flavoring percentage at first and work your way up accordingly.

Yeah, you want to stay away from diacetyl. Contact the vendor and ask about diacetyl

Is there a calculator I can use to measure with a syringe? Mine measures in drops. I'm only using 100%VG and the two flavors I mentioned, 40 drops peach, 20 drops Bavarian cream, 160 VG (all that equals like 5ml)

I agree with breaktru on everything said. Also you mentioned using 100% vg and while it's hard to tell With out seeing the percentages I'm betting one of your problems is a dry hit. Most ppl find they need to cut their vg mix down with something like distilled water. My 2 cents is do the math yourself. I think it's much more likely to have trouble figuring out how to use a mixing calculator from who knows than to do it yourself.

Prepare yourself three small individual batches. 1- nic base with no flavor. 2- nic base with first flavor only. 3- nic base with second flavor only.

Now vape each one. Where is the good and where is the problem?

Is the nic base a clean vapable juice? (Many of us vape unflavored throughout the day.)

How are the two individual flavors? Either need adjusted? Do it. Repeat until you like the taste.

Once you are happy with all the above, combine these mixes (using your ratio of each of these) into a single bottle... Shake and vape. Steep and test...
I suggest a crock pot at 150° for 4 hours - let cool to room temp. before vaping. Oh yea, did I mention "shake often and with vigor".

Divide and conquer! You can do it!!!

(edit- I agree with Cool-breeze. Do the math yourself. Then use a calculator - if you really want to - to verify your results.)

Ok I'll try everything suggested, thanks. My blend has steeped for about 24hrs, should I even attempt to try it out or just keep steeping it?
Also using a kangertech t3s, this thing is horrible for 'testing'. I'll find out about the diaceytl before this week is over, my concentrates are labeled 'organic' but I guess that truly doesn't mean anything. :(

and remember....it's not a race, enjoy the process. One thing I've begun doing is mixing a few new "test flavors" every 10 days or so...stocking them away in a cabinet and forgetting about them. Just now I am going back and testing flavors I made 4-12, 4-27 and 5-7. I have more made on 5-12 but wont even worry about them til June probably. Keep great notes on everything you mix and then you will be able to adjust the taste accordingly. (If you don't keep good notes it's hard to go back after a few weeks.) Tweaking is the fun part of this process so far! Relax, by next month, you'll be a "master mixologist".......good luck!

I'm a little more worried about diacetyl at the moment actually, if they're going to list the ingredients they better list them all.
I may end up selling my concentrates and buy some diacetyl free DIY

You know, this might be a poor attitude, but I smoked for 35 years, at the end it was 2.5pad. I don't know what kind of damage I did to my body with all that (knock on wood, feel ok today), so I'm not gonna let "trace" amounts of some good flavor scare me off of something I've come to enjoy. I don't vape flavors with diacetyl every day, I rotate 4 different flavors at one time, always changing....I'm NOT gonna jump thru the "I cant use this or that hoop" cause I know, whatever I vape, it's gonna be ALOT safer for me than the smokes. IF, big if, while I'm vaping, the time comes where concrete scientific proof comes out that the trace amounts can hurt me, I may alter my selections, but for now...if I want some blueberry cheesecake once in a while, I will have it. Still beats the thousands of chemicals I put in my body for all those years!!!! Just my :2c:

I agree with most of what you said, however, if a website is going list the following ingredients and information:

"Ingredients: Ethyl alcohol, vegetable glycerin, and organic flavors.
Nature's Flavors contain all-natural ingredients and are certified organic, Kosher, vegan, gluten-free, no allergens."

It better not contain diacetyl. I would be ok if in the information section it said CONTAINS DIACETYL.

Sure, I can completely understand that....you want to get what you are supposed to get, not some "secret ingredients", so yea. I do read the listed ingredients also when purchasing and I remember I did the "do I or don't I" when I ordered, but at least I knew.....and like I said, if it is trace amounts, and I have it in one or two blends of a 30 or so cabinet, I know I will not get exposed to too much. Hey, at least we have this option...to know....sure didn't realize the degree of poisons, etc., that were in smokes. We were "told" they were bad, but there they were, selling away. Keep calm and vape on!!! :vapor:

...isn't it funny how "free commerce" is GOOD when it comes to selling poisonous tobacco with additives, but isn't good when selling "flavoring"????

Also, I know Breaktru is too much of an upstanding person to "pimp" himself, but he has an excellent website also..."Breaktru forum", I read that entire forum and got many good mixing tips/tricks there, plus use his calculator and recipes as a starting place to begin to understand how simple mixing flavors can be.....{hattip to Breaktru}. My family/friends cannot believe it when they taste some of my concoctions and discover they are NOT store bought. He's got some great recipes. ((In fact, once I "finalize" some of my own personal creations, I will be emailing him to include in the next update of E-juice-me-up!!!))

I here what your saying and subscribe to the same thinking. I too was a smoker for over 40 years and feel if the cigarettes didn't kill me or give me all sorts of health problems I consider myself lucky. As vaping is the less of the two evils I do keep up with the health issues assoicated with vaping and am mindful of what I mix but not overly concerned of as you said "the trace amounts". Just practice moderation and I think all will be fine.
