Few questions regarding hybrid

So just wanted to start by saying hi to everyone, as I'm pretty new to the hobby and new to the forum.

I started not long ago and got myself a Aspire CF VV+ 1000mah with the nautilus Mini, after using it for a couple of months I and seeing lots of people with the mechanical mods it really got me wanting one.

Looking to pick up an OMG + LBH Chi You I know these hybrids are a bit easier to set up so that's what lead me to it rather then a full on build.

As for what I need to get on top of these
-batteries (18350 or 18500 Sony VTC or Efest from what I gathered)
-Charger (not sure which brand is good will have to check on this)
-Mesh
-Kanthal wire

Anything else I'm missing? for the mesh and the kanthal wire is there a specific specification im looking for like the battery?

Any suggestions or help would be awesome!

Understand that a hybrid mod has limitations; you can only use the built-in RBA on top . . . you won't be able to put any other type of juice delivery device on top. What if you don't like the building deck? Tough luck, that's all you get to use.

I recommend just getting a safe mech and not a hybrid. Ditch the idea of a Genesis-type RTA, and consider either a drip atomizer or tank atomizer.


Information Resources for Your First RBA

If you are considering to ever sub-ohm, you don't want to use an 18350 or 18490/18500 battery. The battery time will suck and you'll be switching out batteries constantly. Use only 18650 batteries if you plan to sub-ohm. (The Sony VTC batteries are available only 18650 size, and they are currently out of production.)

28 gauge kanthal is an excellent starting gauge

Wick:

I particularly do not like stainless steel mesh (very difficult to work with, especially for a beginner), or Genesis-style RTA for that matter. I prefer to use cotton wick such as Ko Jen Do, cotton bacon, or cellucotton (rayon). I recommend getting either a rebuildable drip atomizer or a rebuildable tank atomizer like a Kayfun-style. Just trying to make things easier for you as a beginner builder.

I will have to figure out what atomizer I would want to use with that, there's just a overwhelming amount to choose from.

I do think I want an rebuildable tank atomizer over a rebuildable drip one

If i don't decide to sub-ohm would the 18650 cause any issue?

I don't understand the question.

Batteries come in different sizes: 18350, 18490/18500, 18650, 26650. The smaller batteries have less mAh (capacity or run time) and less amps (power). Generally speaking, the bigger the battery the better the performance.

Some vapers (a minority) do like using the smaller batteries for stealth vaping or being able to use a smaller profile mod, but they sacrifice power and run time for that small size.

Thanks for the info, I will go do more research on the atomizer I want to use and then take the plunge for the purchase.

Any atomizer you can suggest? I keep seeing TOBH ATTY as a top notch one.

I'm currently using an authentic Patriot RDA which suits my preferences well. It has a reasonably deep well for wick & juice, sturdy posts/screws (three post design for either single or dual coils), and durable O-rings. There's probably better RDA's out there. Perhaps start another thread and ask people's preferences and why they like what they use. Use that info to choose what you want.
