Has anyone else ordered multiples of something..and when you receive them you find they all are slightly different from expected?:glug:

When I ordered a ten pack of squid clones they should have been, all the same, right?
Of course, with my luck, they weren't.
..I liked the options from brushed, dented and pre-scuffed, even one that had a polished finish:eek:, and everything between (they were very inexpensive clones) but I wasn't expecting that vast of difference between them!

"At least I won't worry about scratches" I thought to myself.

I suppose I'm asking how many ended up with unexpected variations on your mods while stocking up?
Were they only minor imperfections or something :censored: disastrous?

I won one of the new Pico Brass and Black mods. If I had actually paid for it I'd be very upset. The finish is a scratch magnet. I swear if you have dry skin you could scratch it with your fingerprints! Then after a couple weeks the clear coat or sealer over the black started to blister and peel. The "Brass" looks exactly like Copper to me.
Now, after all that I still love the mod for its size, hand feel and performance. I was so pleased with it I ordered a second one 2 days after I got the first. The 2nd one is a white standard version. Both have seen the same use, carried in the same pocket by the same clumsy owner who doesn't baby his gear. Yet the white one still looks pristine as if it was just unboxed. Go figger?

I was hoping to stir more convo before posting this one because it's kind of a super-short horror story (pun intended:facepalm:)

A couple mods, I had ordered from websites I won't name right now, made me thankful I had a good multi-meter and soldering iron around when they arrived:-x

This one in particular had been put be together dead-short:danger: with the mosfet pre-:censored:ed.
This thing was unusable. (Wait a sec:blink:popped mosfet?) Yes, scary! how the mosfet got popped, whether someone put cells in to test it before shipping it off, I'm afraid to know.
full

Needless to say I ordered a fresh mosfet+resistor combo and this thing got completely rewired into a parallel mod. I had had enough with series mods before I even put cells into one:nah:

To me, it's worth while to check things before trying to fire them. if someone hands me a random mod and I inspect it before hitting the button please don't be offended. I've seen some things I really didn't want to:2c:

Can't wait to hear more from everyone:pop: hope no one else had such a scary package arrive to them:yawn:
