As a pack-a-day smoker married to a non-smoker, my husband finally convinced me to try the e-cig thing. I did ZERO research but we both knew there was a kiosk (I know, I know) at our local mall so we went to check it out.

$140.00 later, I'm in LOVE with the idea of the e-cig. So many benefits, I can't believe I didn't try this earlier.

But, I'm not so sure that I picked the right brand.

I'd love some suggestions on what I should try. I know everyone has different smoking habits and preferences but I'll list mine which might help narrow it down.

- As I said, I smoke approx a pack a day.
- I like the fact that I can charge the Duo at my computer, in my car and at the wall depending on where I'm at but I hate how this one dies so quickly.
- I like a good throat hit and a good amount of vapor.
- The biggest concern I have with the Duo is the cartomizers and their cost. Can I refill the Duo with my own juice? I'v heard conflicting information. They also don't seem to last nearly as long as they claim. 3-4 packs? More like 1, MAX.

Thanks so much for any help. So far this forum has been a great help and it's wonderful to see such a community of digital smokers who are willing to help one another out!

Yeah that seedy upper crust of ecig sellers are big liars.

Not a huge mistake It's a E9 aka KR808D-2. It's a good functional model and the near-twin of the model that is actually supported. KR808D-2 is the favorite of ripoff "name" brands but the normal price and multibrand vendors as well as accessory makers support KR808D-1 which has different threading.

If they have a money-back guarantee and you can return it, I would. Your vendor charges $50 for a battery that should cost about $12-15. They would make you keep the cartos but you can get an adapter to use those on a KR808D-1 (or Vapor4Life which is KR808D-1 in colors).

If you keep it, when it comes time to buy a replacement battery you can buy a whole kit of KR808D-2 at AZSmokeFree for less than what Smoke51 charges for one battery.

I don't know how easy your cartomizers are to refill. Also you undoubtedly have auto batteries you you need to be especially careful - you can kill an auto battery if juice drips from the cartomizer. Auto batteries are dependent on a drag sensor in the middle of the threaded end, right where a carto would drip. Manual batteries are harder to kill with a juice leak.

I will get you a link to a thread where I already explained for someone else with a name brand auto KR808D-2 - the ease of refilling the cartos may depend on what type of cap is on the mouth end:

Here - this is someone else's thread where I explained about filling and about an adapter that will let you use KR808D-1 and Vapor4Life cartos
