I think they operate the same way gmail does to prevent spam. IE: X number of sends within a specified time frame will get account temporarily frozen. This morning I was tweeting extra fast and the last NY one got an error. (Edit: Well guess not... seems to have a cap on @'s)

"Your account () is currently suspended. For more information, please visit Suspended Accounts. " ultimately takes me to @ usage.

I have to confirm that I won't use the account for @'s I think:

Incidentally, I started the twitter account on 12/1 and have never completely filled out the profile because this is all I use it for but yesterday I got a bunch of followers in my email who are, evidentally, picking up these tweets and resending. Now, this morning, I have trouble for the first time... I smell a rat.. well ANTZ really. Has twitter gone the way of Pay Pal?.. just another Nanny State arm?

Edit: Could someone explain this to me in plain English? I am twitter-illiterate and don't know why or how using "@" is a violation. I ticked saying I would behave but don't know how I misbehaved. Does this mean I can't tweet these links tomorrow?

My strategy as well. (Seems there's a set limit on @mentions, since no one seems to have had problems w/ tweeting 6 senators at a time... So 6 is okay but 10 is too many?)

I had the same problem, but after the second tweet this morning. I just didn't know what the error messages meant until I saw the posts about it here and checked my account now.

I have notice this problem comes up to NEW twitter accounts plus when I put City Reps and State Reps in the Daily Action Plan. My guess is some of these guy are hitting the "Block" and reporting free speech as spam. Then Twitter has some sort automated system they use to give you the "Account suspended" message. Just to check that you are a real person and not an actual twitter spammer.

I just successfully tweeted that last NY one that got errored this morning. Tomorrow I will wait a half-hour between tweet links or through the day when I think of it. I'll just download them so they're on my puter.

I decided to go this way too. Will copy the texts to a text file and shoot them off at intervals during the day. Ha! They can't stop us!
