filler inside atomizer?

Hi there,

I've had my 510 for 2 days now, yesterday i blew out my atomizer to get rid of the primer liquid.
immediately afterwards i had great taste & vapor. But somehow 2 hours later the taste got really bad, it's harder to draw and there's not nearly as much vapor as before.
Now i've noticed there's some filler or cloth like stuff in the middle of my atomizer, goes right through it. Is that supposed to be there or could it be the cause for my problem? Should I try to remove it?

Thanks in advance

I wouldn't remove it. It is likely the fiber that's part of the atomizer. Did you blow it out by mouth or by can? Too much force may have moved it. I you're getting a hard draw it might be that your atomizer is flooded. Did you drip on the atty or overfill your cartridge?

I'm heading out.... others will help out...

If you'd put your location in your profile - see the sticky? Someone close might be able to help you out with an atomizer....

Try putting on a fully charged battery. As you vape, feel the atty. If it's not getting warm, it may be flooded. If it's getting too warm, you may not have enough liquid fo supply it, try topping off the cart and dripping 2 drops directly into the atty. You can also take the atty off and look thru it to see if you can see a little dot of light. If it's plugged you can blow it (hold a paper towel in front when you blow though). You don't have to blow real hard to clean any excess fluid or gunk out of the atty.

thanks, I did that now.

I blew it out by mouth, is there any possibility I might have broken it by blowing too hard?
Taste and vapor were great, now it's less vapor & taste and it scratches a lot more in the throat.

I hope my 2nd package arrives today and isn't stuck in the customs because of the liquids or whatever, I will compare them then. Until then I'll try just vaping some more, maybe it will recover somehow.

Most of my older attys have that fiber very visible but my newer ones don't. I don't know for sure if this is a sign of an atty going bad or not, but my older ones don't work as well. Of course, this might just be because they're older :p

Anyway, just try blowing out the atty again, then dripping a few drops directly on the atty. See how that works for ya. If it still isn't working well with a few drops, I don't know what to tell ya. If that works fine, just throw a cart back on but don't fill your carts quite as much in the future.

Good luck!

Away..
The fiber you see runs from the coil to the bridge for extra feeding.
Most have it so you can vape more constantly.
Normally you cant see it because its white.
After use it stains dark brown almost black looking.
Try blowing the atty out from the battery end...hard.
If that fails I'd soak it in alcohol over night and swirl it occasionally, then re blow.
Sometimes carbon can form over the bottom feed hole restricring the airflow.
When that happens, i's pretty much a lost cause.

The heating element of the atomizer is wrapped around non-flammable fibers. It is there for a reason. Liquid wicks from your cartridge to the bridge. The liquid continues to wick down to the same wicking material that surrounds the ceramic cup in which the heating coil sits. As you take a draw off your device, e-liquid is drawn into small holes in the ceramic cup that holds the heating coil and into these fibers. The fibers hold the liquid that is heated for your vape, and probably help to prevent flooding.

Burnt or stinging throat hit/taste generally is a sign that your atomizer is running too dry. If you drip, add a few drops; if you use a cartridge, top it off.
