I got my syringes and needles at Tractor Supply, in the animal health section. Some people like the blunt ones for safety reasons, but Tractor Supply only had sharp ones. I have been using 18 gauge needles, tried 16 but they are huge. Darn stuff is so cheap at Tractor supply you could try a few different gauges. VG is much thicker, so if you run a high VG ratio you might want to try a larger needle, I normally run 70/30 to 80/20 PG/VG.

Sharp needles penetrate better, they also will penetrate your skin pretty well. I just poked myself looking at my needles, again safety is why many prefer the blunt ones.
