Hi there - I am going to be using this video that I came across here to fill my cartomizers with juice from FSUSA that should be here anyday... YouTube - ‪A double demo! The Cartomizer Condom Filling Method, and the Taryn Spin.‬‏

Altho I won't be using the taryn spin because I don't have any condoms with buttplugs yet...

My question is tho, from what I've read, after filling it seems many people say to blow out one of the ends....in the video, he just starts vaporizing it right away after he has filled it and wiped off both ends with a tissue.

Please tell me, should I blow out the end too, or is that just a waste of juice? Or do you think it is necessary, to prevent leaks into the battery?

I have a 2 piece PV with KR808D-1 battery and cartomizer.

Thanks!

It's not as important if you're using manual batteries.

If you use automatic batteries, when you get started filling with the cap method I'd say it's a good idea to gently blow out the cartomizer every time for a while -- at least until you get a good feel for how it works and when you may have over-filled a cartomizer (I've been surprised at the times I didn't think the cartomizer was too full when it actually was).

If a gentle blow gets any e-liquid out, follow up with a little more force until none comes out, then wipe the end down well.

Once you've done it a few times you'll get a feel for when the carto has been filled "just enough" and when it might be over-full, and may not need to blow out the carto every time. But it's better to do it every time until you get to that point rather than to ruin a perfectly good auto battery!

Good advice, thanks! I have an automatic battery (no button).

I guess I am worried about blowing too much out and being wasteful....if it's not overfull, none comes out when u blow?

I blow out from the mouth end, right? Then wipe the battery end?

Yep, that'll do it.

If you're a really neat person who can't stand waste...read on. At first it might seem like alot, but really it's not much to it, and you can fill a hand-full of cartos perfectly in no time flat.

An alternative to all the drip and spin is to grab yourself a 3ml BD syringe next time you're at a WalMart or other pharmacy. They'll usually give you a hand-full for a buck (at a WalMart anyway) and they often come with a needle in the package. If there is no needle...a nice 14 gage would be good (large enough to draw the thick e-liquid into the syringe). If they get nosey and want to know why you want them just tell them you want it for a craft project (to glue something intricate together) or something :)

The needle that usually comes with the WalMart BD kits will be pretty small for e-liquid but should work ok given the following instructions, and they will be very sharp so keep the cap, and be careful.

Put the needle on the syringe, and use it to pry out the little end cap at the mouthpiece end of the carto. If the needle is too flimsy to easily/safely pop it out, don't hesitate to use another tool (Small screw driver, crochet needle, paper clip, etc). Just stick it in the center hole and pop it out.

If there is a rubber like silicon ring under the end cap, pry that out as well. If you see poly-fill, then you are good to go.

With the smaller needle, it'll be hard to 'draw liquid' up into the syringe by sticking the needle in the bottle and pulling the plunger...so instead, pull the plunger all the way out, and drip about 1ml of liquid into the syringe.

Next, push the needle down into the poly-fill of the carto, shoot in the liquid as you slowly pull the needle out.

Put another ml of liquid in the syringe (you probably will not use it all).

Poke it in on the opposite side and slowly pull back the needle as you inject liquid again.

When the poly-fill looks 'slushy' on the top, stop adding liquid. If you got too much, you can probably suck some back into the syringe by pulling the plunger.

Now look at your syringe. How much fluid is left? Subtract that from 2ml, and you know pretty much 'exactly' how much an empty carto of this type can hold for future reference.

Shoot the remaining liquid back into your juice bottle. Cap the syringe and put it away (or fill more cartos then put it away).

Pop the little cap back on. If it had a silicon ring under the tip, it is optional to put that back in!
Actually, I'd consider getting a drip tip and just tossing the little stock flat tips...from then on you can just grab a carto, pop in a nice drip tip, and keep the things wet by adding a few drops every now and then.

Good to vape.

Now ya know how much juice it holds...and can fill hand-fulls of the things in minutes flat with no mess, no waste. After doing a few, you also learn to fill them on sight....if you get a drip tip or two, you just keep them wet without having to mess with condoms, or popping off tips.

Even better to forget the needle, cut the part off where the needle goes with a razor knife then there is a small gap there where a condom will fit right in the end of the syringe, cut the condom end off that is closed with a pair of scissors ,stick a condom in end of the syringe and put your carto in the condom and just draw the juice right up into it and push out any extra with the syringe ! just need to keep your juice in a bottle that has a big enough opening to get the syringe in, this works really well for filling.! perfect fill every time with no waste at all !

I blow out the excess juice from my cartos. I hold a paper towel/tissue under the battery end - while a smidge wasteful, the amount is negligible, in my opinion. Of course, I have the manual batteries, so with the autos, you may wish to blow a few extra times, just to be sure. I'm a newb, and still experimenting with different techniques. As long as I don't consistently make a mess.... :)

Ehhhhhh I think the needles and syringes and stuff are a little too complicated for a newbie like me right now lol

That's what my pal said about a power drill :)
In the time it took him using a screw-driver to bust his knuckles, scratch up everything, and drive in one screw...I'd gone and gotten a drill, popped on a bit & battery, smooched the GF, scritched the dog's ear, and driven in over a dozen screws ;)

Try not to be afraid of a good tool :)

At any rate...
Happy vaping :)

I usually blow first into the mouth end. A drop or so comes out. Then I wipe the battery end and blow through that side. Nothing will come out, but it helps to clear the hole. You need to be able to see through the cartomizer. That is the path the vapor takes.

And one more thing OP, you missed an "e" in the contest (last line).

I am of course, kidding,

If u just helped me to win, You will be my new bff lol

but it does show an edit, don't know if that is allowed until contest ends or not, will find out tho...
there were a lot of entries before mine too so prob some people already won anyways.

Back to topic lol:

I am so so excited to try filling them tommorow with the new flavors I am getting!! They are small bottles so hopefully won't have to steep long...I'm on my last prefilled cartomizer (peach) so will have to try one on very little steeping. Prob a 5 ml one...I ordered 2 of those size, s'mores and almond pleasure (like almond joy). Will prob be trying s'mores tommorow :)
