Filling Cartos

I got a couple questions about filling my own cartos:

1. After filling them (say with condom method), are they good to use immediatly?

2. Will the cartos leak being carried around all day? (Either in a PCC, or my pocket)

3. Is mixing flavours as simple as using two different juices on the same cartos, and how much of each would you start with making a tobbaco/fruit flavour?

1. Depends on the carto's. Most are good to go almost instantly, but waiting a few minutes can't hurt
2. Sometimes, so it's a good idea to vape them a little bit after you fill them, so they're not completely full. Or just put the condoms on.
3. I'd try mixing them in a bottle. How much depends on personal taste. I never had good results when I tried this, but I didn't stick to it...

Here's what I've learned:

1) If they're full, they are typically good to go almost immediately. It doesn't hurt to give them 15 minutes or so for the juice to get absorbed more evenly. The goal is to avoid any dry hits, since they cause a burn on the inner tube and can leave a burning taste that's always there. I think the best way is to drip from the top, but the condom method is fine too. Just blow through the carto onto tissue after you're done if there's any gurgling. You want a clear center tube or you'll have a harder draw and some juice in your mouth.

2) When you're not using one with juice in it, keep the condoms on both ends. Dry in the pocket and the juice won't evaporate.

3) I mix a trial batch in a condom - 5 drops of each. If you've got an atomizer too then you can drip into it and test tiny batches until you like it. For a carto, you can just alternate drops as you fill it, starting at say 50/50, and change to taste.

Also, it's best to top off the carto regularly so it stays pretty wet. Always check it and top it off if vapor drops or flavor changes. If it's white and dry at the top, add 5-15 drops depending on the size.

Thanks guys. How long should a full carto last with constant vaping? (using 808 carts if that matters) Also you mentioned evaporation. How much should I worry about that?

Evaporation isn't a big deal, but you don't want to leave a half used one on the shelf for a month. How long is hard to say - I use 510 XL ones that I top off 2-3 times a day, probably about 2ml/day. On a regular sized carto, I'm guessing a heavy vaper may get half a day. Keeping a small 5ml bottle with you and topping off once in a while is what I think works best. Then you get carried away and have 3 cartos and 3 bottles stuck in a glasses case! Otherwise just have a couple full spare cartos ready in your pocket, plus that spare battery!

1. Not a single one can be considered good to use immediately. You have to let the juice seep throughout the carto for 30 minutes before use. This will ensure that the coil and diaper or coil/wick (horizontal coiled carto) is wet.

2. If you fill it correctly than no, it should not leak at all.

3. You can make a little 5ml mix and use it in the carto. This will ensure that the flavors are mixed thouroughly.
