I just got an ego and some empty cartmoizers to try out the juices. This video was very helpful but i do have to say that this is an incredibly horrible design. Since this is my first e-cig, I have no idea what the other cartomizers take to fill, but this is just silly. Needles, screwdrivers, little plastic parts, seals... I mean, really?? who on earth thought this was a great idea? it defeats the point of using the cartomizer, which in my eyes was to make using it easier.

Yup. Totally ridiculous. There are much better choices out there and much more user friendly. Look for regular 510 cartomizers. I like Tru-Vapor from Vapors Etc.(2.5Ω), Boge (2.7-3.0Ω) and SLB (3.0Ω)(in that order). Since you are a beginner, start with cartomizers in moderate resistance range, anything between 2.4-3.0Ω is safe and recommended for the eGo class batteries. All you need to do is to take off the cap and drip some eliquid into the carto filler until it's nicely saturated. Vape and repeat. Don't let them dry out and don't overvape. :D

Good luck.

Thanks Katya. I was super bummed after watching that cause there is no way I would go through all that on even a semi regular basis just to fill it.

What does that weird sign mean after the 2.5 etc? And what does SLB stand for?

Ohms. Resistance of the cartomizer. Don't worry, you'll learn. :p

SLB is one of the big manufacturers of cartos. More information here:

For now. ;)

I use um. And I use regular 510 cartos, or KR808 /w adapter. The Mega's are alittle more trouble, but I fill a couple when doing it and take it to work. It will last pretty much all my trip to, while at, and from work trip home. Nice to not have to mess with them while driving and on breaks at work. And I like the whistle tip. Problem with the whistle tip is mine don't line up perpendicular to the button. (using RIVa). Anybody have a solution to that problem for me? I've thought about shaving the connector end, but then I'd loose the airway vents on that end of the carto. Might make for a tougher draw. I'm open to solutions.
TIA
Cheers,

There's no solution. I had only one out of five align with the button on my Riva.

Don't feel bad, they do not line up on th eGo either. PLUS I hate the whistle tip, PLUS the fact that once they are filled a second time they start to leak BADLY, at least for me. I threw them all away and use regular cartos again.

Heres how I fill my eGo carts - Remove rubber caps, take 1 rubber cap and put about 15 drops of juice in the rubber cap, insert the rubber cap on the end of the cart (not the batt side, the hole side) and slowly push the cart into the rubber cap till all the juice has gone inside the cart. Remove rubber cap, wipe off you cart, vape and enjoy. It the easiest way!

I second that 'Yup'!!! Totally disappointed with every aspect of the things - don't even hold the 2+ml advertised and just a royal mess to refill/use.

there is a huge difference between regular 510 cartomizers and the "Mega eGO cartomizer" thats supposed to hold 2ml of fluid. I've been fine with the reg 510 cartos...but that Mega thing is dreadful. If you fill it more than 1.5ml it leaks like a sieve...no matter what method you use (and I think I've tried them all). Had my husband give it a go to (a medical doctor so more competent with a syringe) and still limited success. It also changes the taste of my favorite juices...and not in a good way. Gives them a weird plastic taste. Don't know if its from the batting inside or the carto itself. The Mega needs to go back for some fixin'. Not at all user friendly... even if you do have to fill it less times. My suggestion is to take a pass on the Mega cartomizer til they make some improvements.

I tried the eGo mega cartomizers as well. I ordered 5 and have used 4 of them. I doubt I'll waste the juice on filling and using the 5th. They're an all around pain. The flavor is lousy although the vapor production was pretty good. But with the weird taste good vapor just doesn't make up for it. I'd advise anyone thinking about ordering these to spend their money elsewhere.

this is a great method (condom method) for a regular 510 cartomizer...but not for the "Mega eGO cartomizer" (the one that supposed to hold 2ml). I think one of the videos recommended on this thread was for the Mega. Were probably really confusing our newbie here by using conflicting terminology. I think (correct me if I'm wrong) that he wants to know how to fill a regular sized 510 cartomizer...not the monster Mega one. If that is the case...then yes the "condom method" ...is one of the easier ways to fill a 510 cartomizer.
