Filling eGo XL Cartomizers

Hey, guys.

I've been using the eGo XL Cartomizers, and firstly, the definitely do NOT take 2mL of juice. I read somewhere they take more like 1.8, but even at 1.8 they still leak like crazy out of the bottom. I fill slowly from the bottom and gradually move the syringe up while filling, but still they seem to leak. Also tried the over-the-bottle method, but it didn't seem like any more was going in, just a bunch more going back into the bottle.

On my last one, I tried angling the needle to the four "corners" inside the carto after the first milliliter, but same result.

Sad part is, I'm going through all this and don't understand the cartomizer love, anyway. Always tastes like filler and my T-attys give me a clean flavor, at least. Only flavor I get no filler taste is with Atomic Cinnicide, but that hits like a damn freight train! I don't know how people use that stuff, it's almost unvapable, I can barely inhale it and it feels like there are foreign objects in my mouth. At first, I thought juice was spraying into my mouth, but it's just the hit. Tastes good, though.

Anyway, if someone can walk me through the correct way to fill it in case I'm doing something wrong...? Written instructions, please, I'm in Afghanistan and youtube videos don't load well at all. I watched this one and this one, but I'm still getting only about 1.6 mL inside my cartos, max.

If I understand you correctly you're using the eGo cartomizers that are fully enclosed? If so, your problem is filling them from the bottom. They need to be filled from the top through that little hole you punched out. Stick your needle down the hole and move it around as you fill, being careful not to puncture anything. A blunt needle is best. I can get nearly 2 mLs in a regular eGo carto this way. Hope it helps. :)

Yes, I'm using those. Are those not the XLs? Because that's what I ordered, and that's what Liberty Flights sent me.

That's exactly my method to fill them, but still getting more than 1.6 mL has proven to be impossible, for me, before it's leaking out. I guess I'll make do with it, but if this is all it holds, it's definitely NOT even close to being as good as, much less better than tanks, especially since I'm getting this awful filler flavor with my juice. I assumed I was doing something wrong or missing something...

Sorry, I misunderstood and thought you were filling them from the battery end. Now that I reread your post I see that you mean the bottom of the inside of the carto. I'm not sure but it sounds like you have the regular eGo cartos. I was looking at the XLs and wondering if they held much more juice but I haven't bought any yet. The filler taste goes away after you fill them a few times. Yep, they aren't my favorites but since I have some I wanted to use them and at least they're consistent and don't leak like the tanks do for me.

I dunno, all the pictures I looked at, the XLs are enclosed too, so I don't know...? Either way, I'm not out a fortune, so I'll deep trying them. Like I said, the Atomic Cinnicide kicks my ..., but I think I'm finally getting a vaping method down for it. I could never vape it all day, though. Maybe after I finish this off I can put in TastyVapor's Rum juice, since that tastes like Big Red chewing gum anyway, and have a more toned down vape!

If your tanks leak, here's what I posted about them (some tips, unsolicited advice):

As for the tanks, I have had ZERO problems thus far. I could possibly think it's luck, or maybe I adopted later and got newer versions of attys/carts, but I think it's more the fact that I SPENT THE TIME and read that entire eGo-T thread. I followed the advice of others. I'll help you out: Puncture the tank empty. Rotate 360 degrees. Pull out. Fill with syringe, do not take the top off. Blow LIGHTLY on the atty, clear primer. Drop two to three drops in the hole in the battery end and let the juice absorb into the coil. Wipe away excess. Drop two to three drops on the wick using your syringe. Line up the air vents with the spacers on the needle plate. Insert. Take two to three primer puffs. Let sit 10-15 minutes. Use. Like I said, following these instructions, I've had zero problems and have not had to mess with the wick at all, thankfully. One thing I do that I'm not sure I really read was I always continue my inhale at least one to two seconds after I turn off the coil to suck out all leftover vapor AND prime the tank for my next hit. Overall, this is what I'd hoped vaping would be over two years ago and wasn't. I leave them upright overnight. Only leak I've had was when I knocked over an atty with a cart filled about 1/3 of the way in the middle of the night and it laid there until morning. Must have been a bad dream that made me jerk my arm and knock it over....

If you've used them for awhile and they leak, I'd just get a new tank. Also, I take care to always use the same tank in the same atty and never mix/match.

Just my POV.
