I got the flu pretty bad Saturday night and for all of Sunday and Monday my throat was so raw from coughing that I couldn't even vape 0mg peppermint juice, and I was really bummed

so today, even though my throat felt good enough to vape probably 8mg or 12mg juices, I thought I might just help myself along a little and see if I could mellow the vapes a bit and then not have to stick to the light juices

I use cartomizers, so in order to put a 'filter' on the vapes, I just took a cartridge (flat ones are awesome) and with scissors cut about 1/8" off the part that would normally fit into an atomizer -- so it would fit into the back of a carto without squashing against the carto's filler, cut a little 1/4" square out of the polyfill from a blank cart and stuffed it into the mouth end of the cartridge, put the little cartridge cover back on, and put the cartridge on the back of the carto

result: it makes it so you can still vape high-nic, high-throat-hit juices when you have a sore throat :D

so that's pretty cool -- just that little plug of something as a buffer makes it so you don't have to only vape super light nic juices when you have a sore throat :2cool:

I'm glad you mentioned that actually -- I found yesterday that whenever I sucked on a cough drop (containing menthol) I could hit juices that were much higher strength than the ones I could comfortably hit without the cough drop -- actually, the amount of mellowing of the throat hit from menthol is about the same as adding a little filter, so you could probably vape 48mg juice or higher if you had a filter AND your juice was menthol haha

or, if all your juices are 30mg or less, you could probably keep a bottle of just menthol juice and a few little 3ml bottles to mix your favorite juices with menthol for when you're sick and get around the whole filter idea

I just don't want to be relegated to vaping menthol whenever I'm sick -- I was never a big menthol fan when I smoked

definitely nice for when you're sick, but I don't want to start associating menthol flavor with being sick either, which is why I think the little filter is great -- you don't have to do anything different except put a filter on the end

another way to do it is to take the rubber grippy thing off a big pen and put a little cotton or something in it before you stick it on the end of your cartridge or carto

so you notice the throat hit is less doing this? how is the flavor and vapor?
