Thanks everyone.
It's only been about a day and a half, but so far it's not bothering me not to smoke.
When I started all this, I never put limits on myself. If I realy wanted a cigarette, I smoked one. I tried doing it cold turky at first, made it through work, and wound up stopping on the way home for a pack of smokes. That made me realize that I was just setting myself up for failure.
I then figured that I should do both for how ever long it took. It took me over 40 years to develope this habit, so it would take months, or even years to get out of it. I started trying to make vaping my habit, and smoking less of a habit. If I messed up and smoked more than I should have, no big deal. I just kind of let it happen instead of forcing it (if that makes any sense).
I've tried the patch, the pills, the gum, and probably several other ways of quitting over the years, but these e-cigs are the only thing that seem to actually work, because it's the whole smoking sensation package, and not just the nicotene for me.
Important factors that helped me are...
Consistant vape - Cigarettes are very consistant. I need just as consistant of a vape.
Easy to use - Something that is easy to use with out too much fiddling.
Vapor - enough vapor to feel at least like a cigarette.
Throat hit - this is very very important. If I don't get a good satisfying throat hit... I WILL... smoke a cigarette.
Flavor - at least one flavor that tastes close enough to a cigarette. Other flavors are a plus.
Cost - after the initial investment, it should cost less than cigarettes.
I spent a lot of money finding the gear that worked for me, but I also learned a lot from it, and still didn't spend as much as I would have spent on cigarettes, so I realy didn't lose any money.
I wound up going with a Provari and Cortomizers.
For me, the Provari provides the most consistant voltage all the way through the battery charge, so I get the same exact voltage on my last vape as I do on my first vape.
I went with cartomizers because they are very consistant, espeacially if you have a VV device. The resistance is usually +- 0.2 ohms, so I can measure that with my Provari, and adjust the voltage to make it even more consistant.
Cartomizers are easy to fill and only about a buck and a half a peice. Also, they seem to act as a filter too. I fill a bunch up in about 15 minutes, and I'm good for days without having to fiddle with anything.
Anyway, thanks again everyone, and I hope I have been contributing enough to other people who are trying to get off cigarettes.
