Wow! From 3 packs a day to zero. That is quite the accomplishment. CONGRATS!!!

I do have a question for you, OP. How does someone smoke 3 packs a day!? I only smoked 1.5 packs a day and I worked from home and constantly had a cigarette lit. I couldn't even sleep a full night without waking up at 3am for a smoke. Where does one find the time to go through that many smokes!?

Anyway, an incredible accomplishment. Happy vapes!!! :vapor:

Thanks everyone.

It's only been about a day and a half, but so far it's not bothering me not to smoke.

When I started all this, I never put limits on myself. If I realy wanted a cigarette, I smoked one. I tried doing it cold turky at first, made it through work, and wound up stopping on the way home for a pack of smokes. That made me realize that I was just setting myself up for failure.

I then figured that I should do both for how ever long it took. It took me over 40 years to develope this habit, so it would take months, or even years to get out of it. I started trying to make vaping my habit, and smoking less of a habit. If I messed up and smoked more than I should have, no big deal. I just kind of let it happen instead of forcing it (if that makes any sense).

I've tried the patch, the pills, the gum, and probably several other ways of quitting over the years, but these e-cigs are the only thing that seem to actually work, because it's the whole smoking sensation package, and not just the nicotene for me.

Important factors that helped me are...

Consistant vape - Cigarettes are very consistant. I need just as consistant of a vape.
Easy to use - Something that is easy to use with out too much fiddling.
Vapor - enough vapor to feel at least like a cigarette.
Throat hit - this is very very important. If I don't get a good satisfying throat hit... I WILL... smoke a cigarette.
Flavor - at least one flavor that tastes close enough to a cigarette. Other flavors are a plus.
Cost - after the initial investment, it should cost less than cigarettes.

I spent a lot of money finding the gear that worked for me, but I also learned a lot from it, and still didn't spend as much as I would have spent on cigarettes, so I realy didn't lose any money.

I wound up going with a Provari and Cortomizers.

For me, the Provari provides the most consistant voltage all the way through the battery charge, so I get the same exact voltage on my last vape as I do on my first vape.

I went with cartomizers because they are very consistant, espeacially if you have a VV device. The resistance is usually +- 0.2 ohms, so I can measure that with my Provari, and adjust the voltage to make it even more consistant.

Cartomizers are easy to fill and only about a buck and a half a peice. Also, they seem to act as a filter too. I fill a bunch up in about 15 minutes, and I'm good for days without having to fiddle with anything.

Anyway, thanks again everyone, and I hope I have been contributing enough to other people who are trying to get off cigarettes.

It's easy.

2 or 3 while getting ready for work
3 on the way to work
2 when I get to work
2 every hour before lunch
3 or 4 at lunch
2 every hour after lunch
3 on the way home from work

about another pack before bed.

There have been weekends that I smoked almost a carton...:(

Awesome! Whenever I get a craving, I have to consciously remember that the nic is in the PV. First thing in the morning, and after a meal usually. I vape through the cravings and they get shorter and less frequent.

I don't see me ever putting smoke in my lungs again.

This is what I have been doing as well though I tend to slip and have one occasionally while at work. But 1 occasionally compared to a pack and a half a day is still an improvement I suppose.

Day eight, and still no cigarettes...:)

That's cool!

May I ask what nic strength you are using and about how many ml you are going through a day?

I was also a pretty heavy smoker and I 100% don't smoke now too.

I use 24 mg nic and go through about 6-8 ml a day a little less if I am not working (I work at a desk where I can vape).

Congrats. It's not an easy thing to do. Most Non-smokers don't understand the power analogs have on a smoker. I decided to go cold turkey. I got my kit in one day. The next day I woke up I was vaping. It was hard but its one day at a time. Now I cannot even think about going back to analogs. They are nasty!!! I get a craving to vape. I feel much better about myself too. My family is very proud of me on what I have accomplished. That support system helps. I can't vape at work so I chew gum when I get a craving. I have to wait to my lunch break and leave the property to vape. Usually it 5 1/2 hours before my lunch. I laugh and cringe when I smell someone who was smoking. I can't believe I smelled like that. ewwww. Now I have to get the smell out of my car. I can't even stand that anymore. I like this forum because I can talk to others that are going through the same things as me. I really don't have anyone here to talk to about it. I did talk to this vendor at work who tried vaping with the throw away ones. I told him what I bought and how it's going. I told him to go online and look at the different ones. He also said he bought one with the battery already dead. He sounded impressed about the whole vaping thing. He does want to quit analogs he just needs a push in the right direction. I hope he is looking into more that would be great for him.

Congrats. It's gets easier the longer you vape. I had my last analog two weeks ago. I have had afew major cravings but just vaped my way through them. I'll tell wou what has helped me the most, giving up on tabbaco flavors. I found that the more i vaped liquids that tasted Lila cogarettes, the more I craved a cigarette. Try coffee flavors or even fruit flavors. When I dropped cigarette favors I vaped cinnamon, fire and ice or cinnabomb. That really helped. Very strong in your face favors worked for me.
