So ive been lurking on here for about a month and finally got around to making a username.

First bought an E-cig about 1.5 years ago - It was an njoy - used it for about 2 weeks, gave up and went back to analogs - it just wasnt comparable to analogs.

December 29th, 2010 - My Greensmoke kit (recommended to me by a friend) came in and I liked it, but the cartos didnt last, the battery sucked, and everything was SOO expensive ($50 for a replacement battery) - but it was so much like an analog!

Couple days later I came across a review of Greensmoke - and one of the comments below were "Save yourself the time and money and just buy a Vape4Life already." I took that advice and havent looked back since - have not smoked one analog since recieving my V4L. I'm loving it - favorite flavors so far are WOWBOY and WOW BUTTERSCOTCH - AWESOME! THANK YOU SO MUCH V4L!! (My PT is in the mail and I'm thinking about the new drip tips, but im gonna keep it simple for now!)

BTW, its been about three weeks since quitting, and im starting to get a cough, chest congestion, and the occasional phlegm. Ive read that this is normal after qutting smoking, did anyone experience this and how long did it last for??

Thanks in advance!

Hi, Uber! Welcome to V4Life. I'm a newbie, too, but I was made to feel quite welcomed and thought I'd do the same. :)

Congratulations on quitting smoking!!! yaaaaaaaaaaay!!!

I've read on these forums about the congestion and coughing when folks quit smoking, but I never experienced it, nor any of my family members who quit. In fact, within days...we all felt so much better, lung-wise. I actually quit two years ago and took up vaping several months ago when I was about to crack from stress and go back to the analogs.

You might just have a little respiratory thing going on right now...and you can take Mucinex to help bring up all the bad stuff. If it doesn't get better in a few days you may want to check with your family doc.
I do hope it clears, pronto!

I had the same symptoms you described after a few weeks into vaping. I believe its just your body adjusting to not smoking, I could be wrong. However, it will pass and you'll begin feeling much better. It will become easier to breath, things will taste better, and you'll be able to smell things better too...which can be bad at times lol.

I also tried "Greensmoke" before getting my Vapor King and thought it was terrible and expensive. V4L is the W2G :p

Welcome Uber! I had similar symptoms for the first week or two but I also had pretty much the same symptoms every time I've stopped smoking for more than a day or two.

As others have said though, if it goes on too long or becomes a real issue, check in with your doctor, just to be safe.

Hiya Ubermensch. Congrats on quitting!! I coughed a lot at first after accidentally quitting smoking using V4L products. I smoked at least 2 packs a day for about 35 years and had a perpetual smoker's hack. My doctor used to give me asthma medications when I tried to quit before, but I've only had a few lung spasms the first month or two. I didn't feel that good at first, but the coughing gets better. Now I feels better than I can ever remember with only the occassional "hair ball". Hang in there. There's lots of great people here who will be when you need them. Good Luck!

Hey UberM come on in and make yourself comfortable, welcome. Yeah that whole coughing thing will last a little while along with the crazy vivid dreams. Just remember to help your body out by drinking a lot of water, vaping will dehydrate you, more importantly it will help with flushing the chemicals out of your body faster.

Welcome and I hope you come out of this.It was a big change for me to coughing up stuff and a mild sore throat, after smoking for 35 years 2 packs a day..As long as there is vaping I'll never go back to analogs....I never did have vivid dreams when on analogs hardly dreams at all..Since I became vaping I have very vivid dreams...I found out like others have said keep yourself hydrated even if you arent thirsty....GOOD LUCK!!
