Ok, so after making a billion threads in other parts of the forum trying to decide what portable set-up to get (I use a Vamo at home), and discussing disposables, Twists, tanks that leak and get dry hits, eRolls that get too hot, etc. I've finally decided... to get the almighty Volt. I had a 510 kit years ago and I really miss the simplicity of just pulling out a stick battery, screwing on a carto and vaping. Zero hassle. But the only thing holding me back is deciding what PCC to get! ;)

As far as personal pros and cons go, I really like that the sliding PCC is thinner. I also like that it slides open, because it'd take up less real estate while changing batteries. I know most people say the Mega PCC is better, but in photos (so yes, the perspective could be wrong) it LOOKS really thick, and the cover looks fragile. So I could get the sliding PCC and one of the carto cases (only 49 cents!). Then again... having the whole kit in one container would be great. I also don't know how many cartos I'd use in a day yet. I use Boge 510 cartos all the time, but have never owned an 808.

So, Volt vets and pros, set me straight. Is the Mega PCC really the cat's pajamas? Stronger and smaller than it looks online, or is the Slider tried and true? Let me know. :D

Unrelated notes for the curious: I'm going to go for a kit with 2 black auto 65mm batteries with blue LEDs, and a million Ice Menthol cartos. I'm thinking I should get a 3rd battery too, in case I love them so much I want to use them at home too.

I haven't tried them both so that is a toughie.

Eh, I won't hold that against you. Let's count this as a vote for the slider PCC anyway. Shhh, don't tell anyone. ;)

So do you also use the carto case? Or do you just chuck a couple cartos in your pocket with the condoms on them?

My vote is the mega. I own both but prefer the mega so I can carry everything in one case. The build quality is OK, the lid is suspect but never broke one. Mine lasted a year before I had to replace, the hinge broke on the batt charging connection.

Hey, you've totally replied to me before, but I can't remember what thread. I just remember the Full Metal Jacket picture. "What is your major malfunction, numbnuts?" :)

Anyway, I know that logically you're right. For just a little more thickness and the SAME money in the kit I could be carrying around my batteries and cartos in the same container, and could charge my batteries more times. So I should get the Mega PCC. The sliding one just looks so damn cool. haha. Meh, I'm sure I'll end up owning both. That's how vaping works.

One more quick thing and then I'll be ready to order. I know the 78mm batteries give you about 30 minutes to an hour of extra life (for only $1 more in the kit), but... I'm assuming the 65mm is MUCH easier to hang from your mouth comfortably (hands-free). Is that right?

I have a friend here at work that got the Slider pcc and he currently has a Mega pcc in transit because he doesn't like the Slider. He's sitting across from me right now. He's 63 years old with minor arthritis and the Slider is hard for him to open. He says his wife has difficulty opening it too and she's 16 years younger than him with no arthritis.

He also wanted something that would hold an extra battery and some cartomizers.

I have no experience with either one myself. Just thought I would chime in since Bill is sitting right here.

I got the Mega PCC in a trade and totally dig the fact you can recharge about 4 times before having to recharge the case. Took it on a weekend trip and was totally satisfied with the performance and build quality. bigger than the slider? Only slightly and worth the extra charging and storage capacity. If you get the Slider you may say to yourself "I shoulda got the Mega!"

Not only that but the 65 will fit in case with carto attached. For me the 78 is a little big for hanging out of my mouth

Ok, I think I'm ready to pull the trigger. I'm leaning towards a kit with:

- the 78mm batteries: it's worth it to charge less often for only $1.00 more
- the Slider PCC: I know the Mega makes more sense, but I can't get over how cool the Slider looks. I'm sure I will buy the Mega later.
- a third 78mm battery for those days when I chain vape my face off
- a Carto Case to carry in my pocket with the PCC
- Ice Menthol and RY4 carts
- MAYBE bottles of Ice Menthol and RY4. I already have bottles of Halo Menthol Ice and Tribeca, but if Smokeless Image blows my socks off I'll regret not being stocked up

Let me know if there are any arguments or kudos. ;) Otherwise I'm ordering this bad boy. I'm really excited... I'm so tired of huge mods, and constantly wasting money on the "next big tank, clearo, mod, etc." Thanks for all of your help.

I also got the big zipper case and the carto cases. If SI makes it, I probably own it:) I like the carto cases for overnight trips and for using with the zipper case.

Hmm. How many cartos do you use in a day? If 5 in a carto case is overkill, then maybe I'll just get the Mega PCC and throw 3 in it.

God, so many options. Smokeless Image, why are you so great? I've never found a "one stop shop" I liked so much, and I haven't even bought anything yet.
