what about a pcc simalar to the style of the old m401 it was built out of a reasonalbly tough abs type of plastic if you made and exclusive one that would except 808 batts and carts i would guess it would be reasonably cheap to manufacture and it would be low profile at the same time but reasonably solid 1107.jpg

I own both, and they do store energy - just not all that much of it. The 510 PCC is metal, but not tough. In no time at all the pressure of the lid is no longer sufficient to force the battery down enough to charge it. The metal flexes too much from side to side as well. The 401 case is basically the same case as that for the 702 which, if I recall, only stored enough juice to charge an 80mm (?) battery 4 times. The plastic is tough though.

Although the small "cigarette pack" cases were ok, I do like the design concept of the current mega pcc case. I personally don't want to carry around a case that looks like a pack of cigarettes. I do like the harder, molded plastic of some, though. However, my only real wants for the pcc would be to have both "trays" be charging trays and add some more carts somehow. I did not like the old mega pcc, even though it carried a few more carts, the new one is much better, more reliable. The storing of the energy is the problem, though I think one day the technology will be there to allow for multiple charging trays and more carts and supplies with some kind of miniature power storage that is not nuclear based or threatened by airport scanners. ;) :D

Hey kia, i like your thoughts.
The technology is here. Even RF energy harvesting could be used to charge wirelessly.

We only have to use our brains a bit... :D
The current design with step up and down converters is VERY inefficient.

Yeah that is the main problem with a pcc the size of a pack of analogs if you could put in at least a 4000mah battery removable battery then it would be a start but it would be pretty clunky. We could also benefit alot with a pcc that would charge the batts faster and possibly an addition would be a solar recharge function say if you are away from a power supply or in an vaping emergency. Only problems i see with that would be the size of the solar panel and keeping it protected.

A small fusion reactor in a pcc now theres a thought :D:laugh:

Pictures and video will be ready as soon as it is done.
i was thinking to increace the battery capacity by adding an extra internal battery inside the pcc (non removable) but on the slider PCC the space is very limited, my extra board will take all the available space.

Maybe in the V2 pcc the space is more but i don't have one yet. Both of the mods can be applied on the slider and V2.

Would it bad form to suggest an improvement on someone else's PCC? Something where we could carry around 3 batteries and 5 cartomizers in a single PCC, even if it's just charging one battery? I can imagine something probably about the thickness of two decks of cards or so to be able to pull it off. Of course, this is getting awfully close to the size of a pack of analogs and that might rub some people the wrong way.

How much power are you thinking Konstantine? I might be on the lighter side of the spectrum (for now), but I'm finding that a 3 battery rotation with the current slider PCC will get me through most days with a simple rotation (using 3 batteries, charging 2 during the day, but not requiring them).

I've only really burned through 5 (3 fully charged - 2 recharged) when it's a long night out and I'm having several beers along for the ride. Small sample, for sure, but I wonder what a good middle ground would be?

Sitting down, facing forward.
I just found this thread, thanks Konstantine. I am a little disappointed in my mega PCC, the durabilty is a little on the questionable side. On the other hand, making it like a tank is sort of self defeating for most people. What I envision is something the size of a small walkie talkie device with a belt clip. At that size, it's still small enough for a briefcase or purse but will also fit in a pocket or on a belt. At that size having multiple amp hours of charging current isn't too much of a problem and neither is fitting in more than two batteries and some CE3s, cartos or even clearos. If the size is done right even an X2 battery could be handled with no problem, OK a 650 or maybe a 900 depending on how big you want to go. Bottom line is the cigarette pack sized ones are just too small to handle everything many people would like. I do suspect that cost would be a major factor given the relatively limited production runs.
