I just got my shiny new 901 model ecig from Dietsmokes. It shipped so fast, only two day, and I'm very excited about the whole thing.

I've watched the videos and read the threads here for the past week or so, but now that it's actually here I have some questions.

I don't know if I'm an idiot or what, but when I pull out the cartridge part, I don't see any cotton or anything to "drip" onto. Did I possibly just get empty carts? Whatever is in there now tastes like old socks, which I understand is to be expected -- but how do I tell when the cart is empty, or able to be refilled with the juice I bought, when I can't see inside it?

Also, does anyone know if the batteries from Dietsmokes come pre-charged? Mine is working like a charm right now, tons of vapor etc, but I'm not sure if I should plug it in to charge so I don't destroy the battery, or how to tell if it's fully or partly charged.

Thanks for the help, if anyone has time! I'm super stoked, think I'm gonna love this. It looks so...gadgety and steampunk. Yay!

I don't have a 901, but the basics are the same. Most new atomizers come with a cap on them. It's actually a cartridge without the filler, just for shipping protection.

The bad taste is most likely the packing material burning off.

On most carts, if you take a paper clip, insert in the mouthpiece hole, and push, you'll push up the inner sleeve that contains the fiber material. Just a couple of drops of juice on it will charge it. Only a drop or two, and you'll see it soak into the fiber. Try not to let it puddle up on top. Shove it back in, and your good to go. When the vaper gets weak, you push it up again, and add another couple of drops.

congrats Annastatia, 901's are fine personal vaporizers, usually the battery's come with some charge, you'll know when it needs a charge by the led blinking something like 10 times. First charge give it a good long time (6-8hrs) after that it should only take 1.5-2hrs to bring them up to charge. You should have gotten some carts with various strength mystery flavor nicotine juice, you can refill these with your own flavor liquid of different strength nicotine. Every couple days it helps to blow out the atomizer, unscrew from batt, hold a tissue or paper towel over the end the cart attaches to and blow on the other end, this helps clear out any juice that hasn't been burned up. Also it helps to store your atomizers upside down over night and let them drain. I'm sure there are other tips, but that's the beauty of this forum, it's helped me out more than anything else.
Enjoy!!

The 6-8 hours charge is not necessary. Put it in the charger, when the light is green you are good to go. With a Lith Ion batt the 8 hour pre-charge is not needed.
