It's so much easier to wrap a coil with 28 than 30!

It's not perfect, but it's sooooo much better than any of my 30 gauge wraps! Special shoutout to super_X_drifter for the awesome videos and DarkZero for the wonderful coil jig!

Using this logic, the 26g I ordered should wrap itself!

My two favorites are 28 and 30 gauge.....but I actually like the 30 gauge a little better. And I have some 27 gauge that (to me) is waaaaay too stiff. With the 28 gauge (versus the 30 gauge) I have to watch that my post screws don't loosen themselves. I never seem to have that problem at all with the 30 gauge. They vape about the same to me.

I loved 28g Kanthal after starting with 30g.

But then I tried 26g Nichrome and haven't looked back, such a delicious vape.

I'm saving the 28g though, a few of my friends that I got into vaping are constantly asking me how my setups taste so much better than theirs and it'll be time soon enough to teach them about rda's and such.

Ha....that happened to me. I started my niece and her husband on Mini REOs and cartos then attys.....then one day they vaped my RM2 and that was the end of that. They both started "saving up" for RM2s. They're young with babies and no money, so I had mercy and got them RM2s......then had to provide wire......and wick.....and teach them how to wrap coils. Now they're both very happy NON-SMOKERS who never used an e-cig that wasn't a REO. I tell them constantly that they don't realize how good they've got it. Ha.

Hah yeah one of my friends constantly goes on about how my Reo is literally the perfect vape and is exactly what he wants. I told him about Reo's site and everything but what I may end up doing is selling him mine so he can save some cash and pick up a new toy for myself.

First I think I'll just loan him my Chi You clone and Trident until he's comfortable with rebuildables and mech mods.

Hey Vapolith, nice work!!!
I switch back and forth between 28g kanthal and 26g nichrome. The 28g is in my rm2 atm.
As a suggestion, the next time you pull your wick and do a dry burn, try letting off the button and while the coil is still glowing red, squeeze it together with some tweezers to tighten it up. Mine seem to work better if all the wraps are touching. I bet it vapes like a beast as is though!!! :D

With you on this. I can go many weeks on same coil, 30 ga, different post RBAs, with no screws loosening, every couple days dry burn, weekly hot water rinse weekly or more and virtually no screws lossening. With 28 I do get an ocassional loosened screw.

I think 30 is easier to wrap microcoil. Also, 28 has a little lag heating up fully.

Dang, I likes me that shade of REO! :p Too bad I'm already one over my limit :(

That color right there would look Retro Sci-Fi with a "mother of board" door on it!

(I'm itchin' just thinking about it)

I am so sorry to hear about your difficulty, being over the limit and all. Allow me to assist you in that area by sending you my address. You can box up 1 or 2 of your over limit stock, and send it to me. That way we will both be happy.

you're kidding, man . . .. . . have you seen what I do to these poor things? There ain't a single one that hasn't been seriously deformed in my evil hands!

(not to mention . . . . . . . . .. [whistling sound] . . . )

No, malkuth, my good fellow, I'll be truly kind to you, and spare you the horror of seeing one of these poor, bedraggled, mis-shapen beasts up close and personal-like.

 . . . . there . . . . . now don't you feel better?

:pervy:

Yeah, I didn't notice the gaps until I took the closeup pic. I've done the burn and pinch before, I'll try it next time I switch wicks, as you suggest. Thanks!
