been avoiding em for a long time since i've heard allot of bad things but finally broke down n got some from madvapes. i decided to go with metal ones so i wouldn't have to deal with any leaks or my menthol juice cracking em, got 2.5 ish ohms, xl. i do like these things allot but like i thaught they have some wicking issues, when they work they're great though, a little more mellow then my dual coils but still a decent throat hit and great ammount of vapor n flavor. any tips on how to make these things wick better would be appreciated, only thing i can really find is for the clear ones since it's easier to get the tubes off, dont really wanna go threw the hastle to get em off unless i have to but if thats what needs to be done then i guess i will

You can remove the filler seal, on each side of the seal will be a notch where the wick goes into the atty. You can cut those a little wider to allow more room for the wick and when replacing the seal don't push it all the way down on top of the cup, just far enough for it to seal around the cup is enough and will help wicking.

When the tube starts getting low just flip it for a few seconds before each vape, that will allow for the fluid to move up around the coil. Once I started doing that I haven't got a dry hit.

Many don't like they require fiddling with to get them performing optimally, especially with the clearos on the stock tube but that's the way it is. I love em, been using 3 clearos with a syringe for almost 4 months now and they are still performing like new, they handle cleaning and dry burning well and keep on going. I purchased 2 boxes and if I'd have known they would last this long I would have only got 1.

With a little effort and a couple of mods (syringe tube and open the wick slot) they are an excellent vape, particularly the XL's which hold a lot of juice (1.8ml). My wife and I have five each which we change every couple of days and put aside for cleaning, once a week I have a cleanfest. We are using the same ones as when we started with them, this is our eighth week. For us they are by far the best vape, lots of vapour, lots of taste, and the most economical thing we have found. I have eight boxes stashed away just in case... :)

awesome thanks, so far it's working pretty good after doing that even chain vaping havent had a dry hit yet, will see how it holds up. dont understand why people hate these things so much

They used to have a terrible primer smell, glue in the tank, wicking problems, leaking issues, and other problems. But the latest ones aren't too bad.

They are fiddly and time consuming to refill which puts many people off them, but at least they perform well.

If RS would combine the three upper seals into one piece of silicon (like with the G4/G5/Vortex) and used stronger plastic for the clearomizers, they would be hard to beat. Unfortunately RS don't realize this, and there are now clones that improve those two problems (The Vision carto for example).

I haven't yet tried widening the wick slot on the cap, but it sounds very promising. One thing that I've found helps is to invert the carto occasionally so that gravity will help wick the juice into the coil. This is especially helpful when the thing is less than half-filled or so (tough to know exactly on a SS version, of course).

As for inverting it - it doesn't have to be for very long - a second or two will do. Indeed, leaving it upside-down for any length of time (or shaking it) can cause it to leak a bit from the wick in the center of the coil. We all know how delicious that is. :)

been thinking about a map tank for it, or some kind of tank system, i am still getting some dry hits after it gets about half way empty even after flipping, kinda wishing i would have gotten the clear ones so i could pop the tube off easier and cut the loops on the wick im thinking there a lil short or something, oh well still amazing when they work :) might just get some syringes n convert em to clear shouldnt be to bad getting this tube off i gotta torch somewhere

Probably not flipping lt long enough, if it's long enough for the liquid to have time to move down around the coil it should hit every time. That's why I prefer the clearos, it's hard to tell with the SS what the liquid is doing in those. You'll probably get that part of it straight by replacing the tube so you can see what's going on.

........ a little more mellow then my dual coils but still a decent throat hit and great ammount of vapor n flavor. .....

That's my experience also. I really like the duals but they make all my juices slightly harsher then the ce2s. If you're haven't done so yet, try taking all the plugs out, pop on a drip tip and drip away. It'll ruin ya though lol. :vapor:

edit: I've never tried this mod so I don't know if it's worth while or not so I'm just posting it in case you might want to try it. To save a little time, slide the transport out to about 3.00 and start from there. E2 Carto Tea Bag Mod - YouTube
