I guess it’s time I introduce myself. I have been on here reading and researching for some time now. My name is Denise I live in a really small town in Georgia, I am originally from Florida born and raised. I am married to my best friend we have been together since 9th grade, and we are going on 19 years married this year. I have 3 children my oldest son is going to be 23 this year, my middle son is going to be 20 this year and my daughter will be 16.

On to my smoking:

I smoked for 23+ years I have asthma since birth, and recently found out I have COPD. Never thought I would quit smoking really never wanted to honestly. I saw the blu cigarettes while looking for something on the computer one night and showed them to my husband. Then a couple of weeks later we went to Savannah for my doctor’s appt, and saw electronic cigs at the mall. I decided to check on them again when I got home that night and it led me here to this forum. That began my need for more information and started my desire to get myself one. I thought I could have the best of both worlds I could continue to smoke (well basically lol) and still make everyone happy by quitting the analogs. By everyone I mean my grandmother who raised me, my husband who doesn’t smoke and has nagged me to quit for years, my kids, and my doctor’s who tell me every time they see me that I have to quit. So with this I basically could kill two birds with one stone as they say.

I got my 510 kit in on Feb.16 and Feb. 19 I had my last cigarette I was shocked truly, I never thought even imagined I would see the day that I would be without a cigarette. I was panicky the first two days, kind of like omg I don’t have any cigarettes what am I going to do I have to go get some. Then I would calm myself down and realize I didn’t really want one it was just the fact that there wasn’t any around that had me nervous. I got over that after a couple of days, by the third day I realized I didn’t even think about a cigarette that whole day and then I was really really impressed. My husband tells everyone how proud he is of me. I can now smell new things I never realized I missed. Taste things again. Its great.

My lung function has already improved by 72.3% per my pulmonologist. He was very impressed with that. I have more energy. I don’t use my rescue inhalers as often. I am not coughing at all.

Just thought I would share my experience and a little about myself with all you great people here. I am here everyday reading all the stories and usually don’t comment. I just keep to myself and check back here 3 or 4 times a day and see what’s new.

Hi and congrats. I think you're going to love it here, I know I do. There's lots of great people. I too have asthma and have quit the analogs. It's an amazing feeling to know that you can finally be free of them, I know where you're coming from. You may want to look at the health sections too. There's a lot of us asthmatics on here. Have fun checking everything out!

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I really appreciate. You all being so great is what keeps me glued here reading day in and day out.

I dont even think I want to try an analog my son smokes in the house still and just the smell of his is driving me insane he smokes just in his room and I stay away from that side of the house. But when he comes around me I tell him he stinks lol. He ordered a blu kit for himself against what I told him (kids always think they know better) he hates it now he is waiting for some 510 atomizers and juice to come in her ordered.

You live and learn he is so hard headed and ADHD to boot. Cant tell him anything he knows it all lol.
