Propylene glycol, the main ingredient in your carts and liquid, is a humectant. Its impact is to dry out your throat. Your throat gets "raw". You need to counter that by not only drinking more fluids, but using something syrupy. You want to coat your throat against the PG.

Mickey is on target here. Find a hard candy that is compatible with the flavor you are vaporizing. I like coffee/tobacco flavor, so I will suck on Nip's coffee candies. If you like menthol, suck on a hard mint candy. Apple, cherry, whatever -- all flavors are available as hard candies (you get bonus points if Xylitol is the sweetener).

Also consider cough drops. They are very syrupy and designed to coat the mouth and throat. One forum member said he was addicted to Luden's. I like the honey-licorice Luden's; that flavor combo goes well with tobacco.

And don't make e-smoking the last thing you do before falling asleep. Wash the PG out of your throat with a glass of milk or even water. But get the PG coating out before you start snoring and sucking all that nice air conditioned dry air into your mouth.

That explains why it doesn't hurt at all when i have my extra strong mint candy in my mouth. I'm addicted to that taste. It made the vape taste and feels exactly like a real menthol cig.

The big thing missing from e-smoking for me was the taste. I got vapor. I got hand-to-mouth action. But the taste just wasn't there. Using a hard candy shifts taste to that of the candy, plus coating the mouth against propylene glycol's drying effects. Mint will indeed restore a menthol taste e-cig liquids lack.

I am using clorets mint tablets. Works well. without it, I can't taste anything at all.

Speaking of mouth spray, How about trying those mouth freshening sheets? (Forgot whats the actual name. looks like a small piece of translucent paper that literally melts on your tongue. Rather strong. I think its equivalent to a mouth gurgle) Abit expansive though.
