Hello everyone, I just ordered my kit tonight and can't wait for it:mail:. I couldn't resist that pink diamond led;). I have been coughing up a storm :(. It's pretty bad when you have to use your inhaler just to breath enough to smoke a cigarette. Yup, there it is, my smokes right next to the cig. Just not right! My breathing has been declining slow but sure :(. It's worse when I first wake up  in the morning. I'm sure a lot of you out there can relate. I shall let everyone know when I start vaping:vapor:, and keep you posted on my journey to be a non-smoker and hopefully can get rid of them altogether. I wonder if I'll want to smoke an anolog with my e-cig? Jan

Hi and welcome! I have only been vaping for 2 weeks, but I had great success with it! I haven't smoked an analog since my first vape! I did want a cig several times, but I would just start puffing on my ecig and the urge to pick up an analog went away. Now, I wouldn't pick one up for anything! I'm so content with vaping. I chain-vape a lot, but I'm home all the time, so it's easy to do. I bought lots of flavors to keep it interesting and it helped me a lot.

Good luck! And have fun!!

Congrats SpiderWoman. Hope you're breathing easier soon. If you want cigarettes as you transition to vaping it's not a big deal. When your kit arrives and you adjust to your ecig/PV you'll be in charge, not cigarettes. For some it's the first day or week, others longer. Even if you're smoking, chances are good that it will be a lot less. Every cig not smoked is a win. Hang in there girl. Chime in when your kit arrives. You have a cheering section :)

Jan, glad you made the jump...youcandoit!!!! take the funkarettes and put them out of reach...put your PV wherever you used to put the funkies...whenever that craving hits, grab the PV and vape like a demon...if after a bit the cravings don't go away, have that funky, light it and take a puff or 3 and put it down and vape like crazy again...before long, you will be vaping like a champ!!!!!!!

Somewhere out there
You go Jan! You will be feeling sooooooooo much better even if you just cut down on analogs and use your ecig too. I did that for about 2 months, then finally I thought enough, I will just use my ecig and vape and I am now totally of analogs. I feel better, my lungs feel so much better, that I never want to go back. You may find some dry throat with ecigs so drink plenty of water. That went away for me in a couple weeks, but I do keep water nearby to keep hydrated. All the best! bnrk

Congrats on taking the plunge, Spiderwoman. You won't regret it!! I ordered my starter kit over a month ago but just received it 4 days ago (because it was stuck in customs). Regardless, I got it and I love it!! I should start by saying that I have ZERO will power. I don't deny myself things that I enjoy, and I REALLY enjoyed smoking and didn't even want to quit - I just liked the idea of vaping, hoping it would help me cut back on tobacco cigs. I was smoking over a pack a day and was suffering the effects of 20+ years of abusing my body with all of the chemicals in tobacco cigs.

Once I started vaping, I found myself picking up my pv more than the stinky cigs. I still smoked a few stinky cigs the first couple of days (3/day max compared to 25-30), probably more because of the habit than anything else. I also wasn't totally sold on the flavoured cartos that came with my starter kit and felt the nicotine strength was a little low. Well today I got some iced cappuccino e-juice in a higher nic (24mg) strength, and it's so delicious and satisfying that there's no way I would pick up a stinky cig over that delicious goodness! I've been vaping it on and off over the last 8 hours and have no desire to have a stinky cig.

You're going to do great, and you're going to love vaping. And if you're like me you'll be converting all your smoker friends to vaping as well!

So, try out different juices with different nic strength levels in sample sizes and find your sweet spot. What works for someone might taste vile to someone else. But most importantly, if you ever have any questions, issues, or just need someone to talk you through a stinky cig craving, turn to ECF. The members of this forum have all been through it and are always here to answer questions or provide support. I lurked around the forum for weeks before I actually signed up and eventually commented, but everyone's so great, welcoming, and non-judgemental that they make it easy to hop right in.

Vape on, Spiderwoman!!

Thanks for the incouragement. Now I have a new problem. I read that after awhile, 3-4 weeks, you may not want that tabacco flavor. Well guess what? The kit I ordered only offers tabacco flavor. I was pretty satisified with my order because I didn't want to mess with the juice and all that goes with it. I figured having the carts already filled was a cinch. There is another supplier on here that offers a few flavored compatable cartridges for the kit that I ordered, only if I use them the lifetime warrenty that will replace the battery for free, as long as you are a dedicated buyer of their carts. They will look at the batteries you send back and if there is any juice in there the warrenty is void. Now this new kit is to arrive in the next 24-48 hours and I dont know what to do. I could bur a KR808 from the other co. and buy cherry and use them only with that model, but what do I do with the one I ordered? Maybe I jumped the gun on this because of the diamond lit tip. LOL But at the time I ordered it I was comfortable with the tabacco flavor. Any comment would be greatly appreciated.

Jan, it sounds like you got one the rip off kits...sorry, but that's how it sounds...what kit is it...can you return it...there are a number of reputable companies that sell prefilled carts/cartos such as Vapor4Life and similar...these companies sell diff flavs as well...auto batts like you have coming sound OK at first but as many find, a manual gives a much more satisfying vape...as has oft been said, you control the batt, not the batt controlling you and the #1 killer of auto batts is juice(99.9%)...Having said that, the MOST important thing is getting started with vaping and getting away from the funkarettes...tell us what kit you have and we can help you use it better and not get you caught up in Gillette marketing schemes..........

I'd suggest getting an 808 to use with cartomisers. Personally I prefer auto batteries (and there is less chance of leaking into the battery with cartomisers; if it happens and the auto-switch no longer works, flushing out THAT END only - don't submerse the whole battery - usually works in unsticking the switch).

Cartomisers might not work (or not well) with underpowered small batteries. Version 2 if possible.

...not saying that at all...what I am saying is don't get caught up in any Gillette style marketing where you get locked in to only one vendors product...there are other options to get what you want regardless of what vendor you started with...in other words...you don't havvta buy only xyz brand batts, carts/cartos(prefilled or not) and there is a whole world of juices out there when you buy empty carts/cartos...same with batts, if autos work for you, GREAT but manuals are more forgiving and often give a better vaping experience...sorry if I added to your confusion...like I said, the important point is to jump in and get a PV and get started vaping and away from the funkarettes............
