Ok so I think I got everything down, I just need to get some stuff to measure out my ingredients

What do I need.

I have about 29 flavors.
Nicotine
PG Base
VG Base
and some additive flavors
Some powder

At just over a dollar a syringe, I doubt I am willing to buy 1 for each flavor. So I was looking at their plastic dropper packs.

But what would be best to use? and how many of each? What size etc etc...

I was already looking at 3ml blunt tip syringes. 1 for the pg, and 1 without the needle for the VG. and 1 for the nicotine.

Then I dunno what for the flavor.. Or just buy a few more 3ml syringes and wash them out after each mixing session. (I dont think I will use more than 5 flavors at a time)

Thanks.

I personally just soak my syringes in hot water. Use the same 5ml syringe for pg an vg, just rinse it well. The only thing I keep exclusive is my nic syringe. I clean it and all, but just feel better if I keep that one for gloved hands;). And as far as size goes...depends on the size of your batches. I'm still in the testing phase. Making 10ml batches with a couple 1ml, one 5 ml, and a 1ml for my nic. When I hit what I like I'll move up but those do it for me in the testing phase. Good luck. Oh, and use glass bottles;)

adding them to my cart at ecigexpress - hmmm i wonder why they charge so much.[/url]

They are charging you for the convenience of them taking one or a few out of the box and sending it to you, hopefully with your other vape stuff, since they would probably still lose money just sending you a few syringes: think labor cost for printing the order, packing the box, printing and applying a label to the box, etc.

I reuse mine with no problem, hot water rinse and let them air dry. But I only have 3 ml at this point, and I seriously wish I had 1 ml for flavorings at low concentrations. And 10 ml would be really nice for making batches <30 ml. If time is more important than a few bucks to you, getting a box makes sense in that you can dedicate a 1 ml for each flavor, or just toss them out after each use, I suppose.

On the other hand, if you reuse them a lot, you could probably make a box last a decade or so, which would make buying a box ridiculously cheap in the long run. I guess the other variable is, how committed are you to DIY? If you are not sure it is something you will continue to do, a box of syringes might be overkill, and then the convenience of getting just a few with your other supplies makes sense.

I have a couple of 10 ml syringes for pg and vg and a 3ml for nic. After a mixing session, I rinse in hot water and press several loads through with the plunger.

As far as flavors go, I have plenty of syringes of the 3ml and 1 ml variety. I never cross use them during a session. When finished, they get the hot water treatment.

Get the water as hot as you can stand it, hold the syringes under the water with the needles pointing down until you can see a full stream come from them. If you smell test them you will still smell the flavors. I give each one a pressure blast with the plunger at least 4 times. If they still have any lingering smell of the flavor then I repeat until there is no smell.

This works good for me so far.

After they are washed well, I hold them firmly and give them a couple of solid downward thrusts to fling as much water out as possible. (similar to cracking a whip). Dry with tank and plunger separated.

I always mix the "base" first (Nic, VG and PG) using the same syringe, rinsing and flushing after each use. I then add the flavors by using the dropper top bottle that the flavors come in. No need for a syringe if you are only using a few drops...

(then again, I don't mix more than 30ml of a given flavor at a time.)

I bought a box of 100 3 mL syringes from a vet supply for about 16.99 shipped. So far, I label them with the flavor name with a sharpie, then once I use them, I take the blunt tip back off and put the cap on the syringe..these came with caps. Then I just store them all in a gallon bag. I don't rinse them out..I figure with the cap on it's pretty comparable to a bottle with a cap screwed on. I had to order blunt tips separately and I do wish I had more of those.

Next time I buy syringes and when I finally get some more blunt tips, I am going to look at our local farm/ranch store and see what they might have.

I have a lifetime supply of 10 mL syringes. I had an unfortunate run in with a Russian Olive tree thorn that went into my toe joint and put me on IV antibiotics for a month. Lots, and lots, and LOTS of saline syringes. Boiled em up and have a ton. Unfortunately they're a pain for small measurements so they're only really good for PG/VG.

I get 6ml and 1ml syringes free at my pharmacy. They don't have needles, because they're for measuring pediatric prescriptions, but work well for most of my mixing. The great thing about the 6ml is the numbers and markings are raised and painted. I've never had one of those fade. If you know your pharmacy team personally, you can probably get a handful of each. :) The only ones I buy are the 10ml and a few 3ml.
