I know there are like a million of these threads regarding polyfil batting and it's safe use for cart modding, but I emailed Fairfield, who makes most of it or so it seems, and here was her reply:
Hello Nick,
Polyester by its very nature is flame ......ant. We do not spray it with
any chemicals. It will not support a flame on its own but will melt if
it is held to a flame.

Cigarette?
