Has anyone tried this? Take an empty cart put some type of lubricant inside not sure what. Inject it with the Fire Stop Silicone then take a stirring straw lube the outside and stick it in the middle. Let that setup till the silcone has set and somehow pull the whole chunk out and slide the straw out. Then you should be able to slice the chunk into perfectly fitted gaskets for a ZFM. I curious what other people think of this and what problems I might run into trying this before I throw down 15 bucks at lowes for a tube of the stuff.

RTV (room temperature vulcanizing) Silicone needs to be used with caution.

It out-gasses over its lifespan, some nasty fumes.

Plus the fire resistance is more chemicals in that particular type.(normal silicone is good to some high temps already look at the oven mits out now and so on)

Look for Food Grade silicone molding material.

It must be "cured" but is not difficult.

Doing two proof of concepts right now with some GE premium waterproof silicone I had laying around. It says Silicone II clear at the top.

The first one I put 4 drops of 0mg flavorless vg and then wiped the inside with a paper tube q-tip. Then I injected the silicone into the cart and cut the ends off the q-tip. I had to poke the silcone several times to release any bubbles and top off. I then placed the q-tip stick into the center of the cart and put in my garage to cure.

The second one I did the same except I used a plastic tube q-tip stick and I thought i'd try and make a built in support system so I took a thick gauge paper clip and made a U out of it and inserted it into the cart with the bottom of the U facing the mouth piece and the top trimed to 1-2mm below the cart opening.

I probably wont attempt to use these until I find out more about the silicone and I might look into finding some food grade silicone. If all turns out well I'll post some pics later.
