Hello All - I have a Mini-Reo that doesn't seem to be performing well. The metal piece that makes contact with the firing pin is bent. (On my Grand, the metal piece is not bent at all.) I think that this is causing the Mini to under-perform due to the pin not making a solid contact. Everything still works, but not as well as I feel it should. I'm wondering if this is the issue. For all of you with a Mini or Grand, I would appreciate it if you could check to see if yours is bent. When I use the same atty and battery on my BB, everything works great. Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks much for reading. - Blindsoup

It's supposed to be bent. It only needs to make contact on one tiny point. I've seen this suggestion: clean the pen with alcohol (with a Q-tip) then dab a tiny bit of Noalox on the tip of the firing pen. It helped mine when I first got it, so I do it not regularly, but now and then. You can get Noalox at Home Depot or Lowes. Actually, when I got my Mini, Rob included a tiny smidge of Noalox in a little zip lock bag for this very purpose. I also use (Rob no longer recommends this, but I can't see how it would hurt) a little magnet spacer on my battery (between the battery and the pin) so I don't have to push down so far on the button. I got my little magnet spacers at Joye eGo | Joye 510 | Electronic Cigarette supplies Tulsa | Batteries, atomizers, cartomizers, e-Liquid and more!. Hope this helps.

I have had the same issues, sent them both to Rob, and have been using them the last 2 days, 1 mod under performs no matter what batt atty combo I use, the other is fine both are minis. Rob did say not to do the magnet thing but if I did to use it on the spring end. That helps some but would be better for contact on the positive end of the battery. Don't want to ruin the mod, But will order some more spacers as it does improve things a lot.

That doesn't sound right. If I were you, I would take a q-tip and some alcohol or vinegar or jeweler's pickle, etc., and use it to swab the firing pin really well to ensure any oxidation present is removed. Then a dab of Noalox on the tip.

Not discounting your observations, mind you. I'm honestly trying to help.

Thanks Mudflap I have done that every few days( being in FL) and sent them back to Rob. Recharged all batts and one of them still under performs even with an LR on it. Today I used the spacer on the positive pole of the batt, it helps quite a bit with an LR and a hi drain batt. Now if I use a non hi drain, spacer and reg atty it turns into a doorstop. So with that one it will always be a hi drain and LR, although I don't always like my vape that warm. But appreciate all the advice.

Dee, I know it would be tricky, but is there any way you could measure the voltage from the atty connector while the firing pin is depressed in the Reo that under performs?

that is another great idea.....i haven't had the chance to try anything yet, but as soon as i can i will post the outcome....thanks everyone!

I also have a Grand that seems to be having performance issues. I've tried noalax, new batteries (AW IMR's), and new regular atties. It almost seems like the atty is not getting hot enough to cook the juice correctly. I still get some vapor but not as much as I should be and the flavor is not as good as it once was. If I use it too much I also get a throat irritation.

I've vaped a lot of cinnamon juice in it and I'm curious if there is build-up in the catch cup or something. Everything looks clean but I've never done any maintenance to it outside of the noalax. I may just send it back to Rob for a tune-up.

Just want to put this out there because this has been done recently....

Do not ever put leads from your multimeter in your atty connector or atty adapters while there is a battery in your mod and press the button. This will "cook" your mod: collapse the spring, and possibly damage the switch/button and firing pin. If this happens, contact Rob right away.
