I got my 510 from cignot today! I don't think I cleaned the atty very well at first and the first few hits tasted like .......realllly harsh on my throat too. It started to work alot better later on, and then it started to get harsh again. I put a few drops on the atty and tried again. I heard a VERY slight gurgle sound the first couple hits but now i hit it with no sound at all. Right now it doesn't taste delicious or anything and the vaper is dying down again so i think it might be time for a few more drops. I don't care for the cartridges, i think i'll straight drip from here on out. Is that bad for the 510? Also, how much of the taste is due to the liquid. Are there any flavors that are "to die for"? :) If so, give me a recommendation. All my liquids thus far are from cignot.

Also, I smoke about 6 cigs a day and this stuff is giving me quite the light headed buzz. I may eventually take nicotine out of the equation, i just like smoking...or shall i say vaping now! :) :)

edit: how many drops should go on the atty for a 510 when dripping

If you like rum type flavoring then my to-die-for currently is Butter Rum (tv version) from Tasty vapor. Its sweet, quite strong, and you can taste rum in it. Ms T Bakery and DIYFlavorshack do some good flavors too,(I have used both of these vendors too) Halo seem to be doing well on tobacco type flavors, according to reviews - but you must remember taste is very subjective and follow advice with caution. What *I* love you might hate, and vice versa. Always look at negative as well as positive reviews on juices if available, sometimes that's a help.
One of the popular flavors atm I don't like,(I prefer another vendors version actually lol) but there's a few don't like Butter rum too (its very sweet, a little heavy at times, but thats a plus for me, might not be for others which is cool). Remember that with flavors, a negative review isn't saying (usually) that the juice is 'bad' just that the person who used it didn't like it for xx reasons. Sometimes those reasons might be things you would think (example; there is an undertone of cloves in the juice, the reviewer hates the taste of cloves, and you do as well, so that would be one you'd avoid)
Some flavors are hard to 'get right' although some users think one vendor may have it down, others disagree. Tobacco flavors and coffee flavors seem the hardest to get 'exact' looking at reviews, and some fruit flavors tend towards the candy-end rather than the fresh fruit end, so bear that in mind when looking for new flavors.
Hope you find a nice flavor that suits you well!

I'm having a really hard time judging when to add more to the atomizer. In other words, how can i tell when it's getting dry. Some hits feel or taste a little harsher and so i think it's getting dryer, but i'll exhale more vapor than the previous hit. I've already flooded it once, but i blew it all out, added on more drop, and it started hitting good again...after about 10 hits i'm back at the uncertainty area of whether or not it's drying up

edit: I guess what I'm also trying to ask is, if it gets dry are there any negative consequences to the hardware, or does it just taste like ..... I don't want my atty going bad while I learn how to judge when to add more liquid

When it tastes bad (or like socks) or harsh - top it off. Vapor and taste dont always match up.
I flood mine all the time when my tastebuds are having a bad day (and everything tastes like socks then) and I top off too much lol. Manual battery though so it's not gonna kill it.
Attys like to be wet, too wet is better than too dry but finding hte balance can be a kicker.

It's funny, but I never noticed the primer fluid on my first 510. Just popped on a cart and started vaping away. I guess coming from gross tasting cigarettes even the primer fluid tasted good! I also didn't get any vapour, at least, not the clouds of vapour I'd read about. And I barely got any taste. It took about a week and then, almost overnight, it really started to perform.

2 drops on the atty should do you. I almost always flood when using 3.
