i charge it till the light turns green since first got it. the batteries last a good 3 to 4 hours depending on how much i vape. red is regular charge and green is trickle charging...i believe. no need to trickle charge for hours. ill sometimes leave it plugged in when its green for maybe another 30 minutes.

i have 4 901 batteries and ive charged them all the same way since i got them on march 2 09. no problems with ant of the batteries

Here's what I know. When I start using a freshly charged battery, and within 30 minutes it's blinking at me and dies, it's always a few-hours-charged-til-green battery. If I then charge it for 8+ hours, it will once again work normally. And I'll go out on a limb and say that many, many people having this experience is the source of the "urban myth", in addition to folks like Leaford who proved it out by counting puffs.

If your batteries work fine by charging til green, then do that.

The 901s I had started off being good for 2 hrs but within a week or so went down to 1.5hrs vaping.
That was following the instructions given by the seller.

Charging till green and using immediately made no difference .

I was using them heavily.

I did not count the puffs I got.

I use large batteries now and they start off holding a 7 hour charge after 5 - 6 weeks use they take less time to charge but only hold their charge for 5 hours vaping.
Tried putting them on charge for 12 hours it does not increase the time they last.

ok...maybe we need to break it down by MFG of the ecig.

i am very confident that my DSE 901 charger is fully charging fine all 4 of my batteries. i have 2 chargers and they both are charging well.

here are the specs of my charger (line by line):

Desan battery charger
Model: DSE901-C
Input: 100-240-50/60Hz
IN.DC: 6-24V
Output: 4.2V 0.1A

ok sooo now if the charger is charging at 0.1A = 100Ma and the 901 battery is somewhere around 200Ma capacity. it should technically take 2 hrs to full charge a dead battery. now i dont sit in front of the charger to see when the green light comes on but it does average around the 2hr mark when the green light comes on.

I put my 901 together immediately and started puffing. I always heard that nimh and lithium batts did not have a memory and as long as you didn't over or undercharge them you were fine. I think that the differences in battery times is probably based on usage and manufacturing variance.

I use my batteries as soon as the charger turns green, sometimes sooner if the other one dies.

I knew that the 901 batts that came with my kit were just going to be starters anyway until I start modding/using a USB.
