Tried to rebuild my first atomizer on my mvp 2, built it around 1.5 ohms, 28 gauge kanthal and organic cotton. I built a micro coil and it was really harsh and I think it may be my cotton. My cotton was saturated and no it's not the juice I'm using. However the cotton I'm using isn't pure white, it's an off white/gray.. Should I just boil it down and that'll get rid of harshness? It's not even vape able...

I'm rebuilding on a caterpillar adjustable airflow RDA. The rda came with 2 coils prebuild with silica wick at 1.5 ohms which I've been using, I just feel rebuilding my own with cotton will give me more vapor and flavor. I rebuilt my own coil right when I get it, but it was so harsh I instantly knew soemthing was wrong so I just put in the coils that came with it and threw the one I made, out.

What's your power source? Might be running too hot. If adjustable, turn it down.

You say the coil is "around 1.5 ohms" - but what it it, exactly? You really need to know before you fire it. "About" isn't good enough.

Wicking takes some practice. Different materials perform differently. Cotton tends to swell when wet, so you need to be able to slide it inside the coil (when dry) fairly easily. (Not so loose it will fall out, but not much drag at all.) Too much wick can choke off the juice flow, leading to dry, harsh hits.
