vaping and reading and working up a new order i think i might have neglected to really seat the tank on my nice new shiny ego T and got my first burnt taste--have had this innumerable times with other atomizers and with some just dirpped the hell out of it withsome neutral juice and got back to biz . can't really see how to drip on a T atomizer. other quick ways to clear it?

i'm just to about to order a bunch of spares but don't have much left and want to get this champ back up asap.(all i have at hand is some random cartomizers a couple of weak 510s any quick tips--a vodka rinse--early bed time--drain and dry for the morning any ego tank atomizer users out there--its been great (no drip no mess sweet spot) for a day and half -straight. so so far i am liking it more than most of my other adventures...advice? condolences? do a few dry vapes lead to doom with this otherwise sweet performing machine?

well i just poured a bunch of 80% pg 20% vg onto the tip and am puffing it off--taste is getting cleaner but still kind of cruddy h**ll if this doesn;t work i will try going to bed early and just let it air out--i hate cleaning a new atty as it alwaysseems to damp down their performance. are the ego t atty's all that different?

I get it once, maybe twice a day. I've been assuming it's a "dry" vape- based on repeated reviews of cozzcon's vids.

My solution: I inhale on the mouthpiece (without hitting the "button) for 3secs or so. Blow sharply into the mouthpiece, in case the vacuum system of the tank is somehow horked, then inhale again for another 3secs or so... the process is essentially trying to re-prime the system and re-wet the atty.

Then I pull a couple+ short vapes off, but don't inhale.

Then it's back to vaping. Everything happy and tasty again.

Day 17 on the cheap TAWA atty, no cleaning of any type applied to it yet. Still trying to run it into the ground or go sour tasting from juice-funk.

OK I'm not a total pro yet but it would seem that it's good to give your T atty a vodka or PGA bath every 3 days or so. Don't dry burn it!!! And once you see (in your hopefully clear tank cart) that you are about 2 mm away from being empty you refill so your atty doesn't have to work so hard. Keep us up to date as to how you're doing...I hate that burnt atty taste too....

This is what I do, a few no button puffs with a blow in, then a few more puffs and back to business. The problem I'm having now is I have to do it VERY often, and I see my tanks dropping considerably faster (probably because the primer puffing is pulling in more juice.) I even have times where the taste still doesn't go away, I've primed in half a tank before by accident (flooding the attie) and it STILL tastes burnt. Both my atties are doing this now (from different vendors ordered at different times), I thought it was the tank's problem so I changed tanks (and flavors, because I ran out of my last) and I'm still having the problem.

Case in point: Right now, 5 perfect inhales after I just reprimed it, the 6th is already tasting burnt.

I blow out the atties frequently and prime them from the batt end with a few drops, too. Nothing seems to fix the problem for more than 5-6 draws.

Edit: IT's been a few hours (of constant vaping) since I got a burnt taste after changing my method. Instead of long slow inhales that are inaudible, followed with a few seconds of dragging with the button off, I take the same length inhale but it's a bit faster, and you can hear the air moving through the attie; I still drag for a few seconds after letting off the button, but this seems to have fixed my problem. I was taking slower inhales because I didn't want to hear the whistle of the air moving through the air holes in the attie.

My mom vapes like this, because that's how she smoked, and she's been going a week no without complaint, so I figured I'd try it. Too bad I've been telling her for a week now that she's been doing it wrong. xD

I thought my first one was no good right out of the box too, I moved on to the second one which was better but not great and within 5 days or so it wasn't working very well at all either. I was getting a super tight draw from the one that had been working, and a burnt taste with both of them. I don't remember what prompted me to try it, but I thinned my juice, and after a quick rinse with hot water, both worked great. No primer puffs, lots more vapor, and pretty nice flavor. I had rinsed them both before with no improvement other than the burnt taste being gone for a puff or two. The liquids that I was using were all straight PG, and I had heard that too much VG could be a problem, but PG worked for most people so I had thought that the problem had to be something else. But clearly both of my atomizers like thinner juice. I haven't had any leakage with the thinned juice. Now all I have to do is figure out how much I thinned them so I can be consistent and not have to guess each time I fill a tank. :)

I started getting the burnt taste on day 5 with my ego t. The solution for me has been primer puffs (2-3 short drags) before hitting the battery, and haven't had the problem again. Also, when I'm vaping pretty steady, I set it on the battery end between vapes. Don't know if this helps, but I figure the juice is better sitting on the wick side than the mouth piece side...who knows. Still very pleased with it...tomorrow will be 1 week with no analogs and the last one I had was right before I unboxed the tank!

1 week in. Flushing the atty with pure pg seemed to do the trick at first but now i seem to be suffering from leaking--resulting in flooding resulting in crud build up reduced vapor and periodic juice in the mouth. The attys are from volcanocig.com I just got 3 more and switched to the new one. Back to the beautiful first vape feel i had last week. But now that i have two atties i have been checking to see if the leaking is cart cracks/hole enlargement or atty wick probs. Alas it seems to be some sort of interaction effect. The fresh atomizer fresh cart is spot on. the fresh atomizer refilled cart is ok but gurgles a bit. the old atomizer new cart still leaks but not as much.

seems i have a "wicking issue" but the explanation by vicki from cignot on how to pull your wick up looks like something you would need a major magnifying lense and somesort of surical tweezers for--she doesn't even do it for real but uses a knitting needle and a tassle as stand ins.

YouTube - eGo-t wick adjustment

i gues ill go see if i can hunt down a magnifying glass. I still have 2 more attys to test and 1 cart left from first box of 5 and 4 from 2nd.

kind of pricey for a weeks vaping so far...when it works its sweet but it definitely has issues. Ive been handling the carts more gently, slding them in, refraining from twisting, not checking levels too often and seem to reducing the leaking a bit.

To clear out any burnt tastes, just add a couple drops on the battery end hole, then blow it through. Add a couple more drops, then put the battery on. This acts as a Primer.

Dropping juice on the wick does nothing but provide a normal vape for you. You want the liquid to be underneath the wick, hence putting drops on the battery end.

Just get in the habit of putting a couple drops in the battery end hole every time you fill-up a new tank.

Just gave that a shot on a 5-day old atty (that I haven't cleaned yet) and it definitely seems to work. Great tip!

ZOMG thanks to those (EDIT: RXDI and deusXmchna) who advised dripping on the battery end, blowing through, then the whole taking a few puffs, blowing, then trying to vape... you just brought my old type-B atty back to life. :D Of course Murphy's Law dictates it had a better chance of working after I just ordered 5 new attys. lolz. I had to dig out an emergency type-A and after 20 minutes of using that, I can categorically say... type-B is infinitely superior to type-A. I hated it. It felt like I was putting a toothpick in my mouth its so small, and the atty heats up in no time at all compared to type-B. I packed my type-A stuff away when I got the type-B but now I'm convinced... they can find a new home in the dumpster!

Thanks for reinvigorating my type-B while I wait for my new attys (oh, and 20 new juices!) to arrive. :D WOOT!
