I think probably I shouldn't have, but I usually just waited until I could tell the vape was not as strong. I think they metered at around 3.5 volts by then. People say don't take them down past 3.7 volts or so, but....

My 18650s are still going and some of them are two years old....

Ideally, change them out earlier rather than later. They'll last longer. If you have plenty, then maybe every 6-7 hours or so.....??

I finally got in the habit of changing the battery out when I got home from work, then use the "new" one all evening. Then I'd put a fresh one in in the morning. If you have several, just figure out a routine and you'll never have to worry about it.

Battery University says don't go go lower than 2.5 volts. However changing them out early will extend the longevity of the battery but how how much I don't know. I've had my 18650s for almost two years and they are still going strong. I don't see it being a concern if you look at the long view of price and how long they actually last. Squeezing out an extra 10% of battery life doesn't seem important in my view. I just vape away and when the vape seems a little off I pop in a freshly charged one or,if I'm going out or if I just feel like it As long as they arent discharged below 2.5 volts everything is OK.

Same here. Plus I always keep at least one spare in my car in case the day takes longer than it should.
