Received my rba's today , and so far I haven't lost my mind .....completely . I sat down after reading and watching everything I could on building a mesh wick and coil . Started with the drill bit method and could only get a hot as hell coil at 4.8 ohms ......it popped . Repeated about 4 times . Finally after a foot and a half of Kanthal I've got one at 1.9 ohms and firing good , so far . I'm out of Kanthal so I need some more . Might get 28,30,and 32 this time . So far hitting like a freight train and taste is ok , need to break it in more I supose .

Give it some time, man. There is a slight learning curve (read trial and error) involved. I would suggest not going below 30 unless you are using a decent manual PV because it takes a bit of finesse to keep the ohms up for the VV devices. Try to keep the ohms around 2.0 or so. Prep work makes all the difference in the world, but taking your time to make sure you have it right really makes the vape.

Well , spoke too soon . It lasted till about 11 pm last night then POP . Will get some more wire , there is a place here in town that should carry it . will go by on monday and check . will get 32 and 30 if possible . With 30 and 32 , about how many wraps should I do ?

It depends on the diameter of your wick. I use the drill bit method of wrapping coils. A 5/4 wrap on a 7/64 drill bit, with 32 awg kanthal A-1 should give you about 2.0 ohms.

The 32 works well for keeping the ohms up where you want it like stated, but the 30 gives you one or two more wraps around the wick allowing for a little more coverage. It's not so thick that it becomes kind of a pain to coil correctly.

Sounds like you may have had a glowing top lead at the pos post. Test the coil with the wick still dry with around 3.7 volts to see how the coils are doing. Nudge the coils around with it firing until you get all of the coils glowing uniformly.
