I've read your posts for weeks and have been trying not to beat myself up about the 2-3 cigarettes a day that I couldn't seem to shake. Story after story of success with quitting made me feel even more like a loser.

I was introduced to an ecig (if you could call it that) a few years ago but never got serious and mainly used it when traveling. A bout with a nasty virus/cough sent me to upgrade the equipment a few weeks ago. What a difference a few years makes in this industry! Loving my iTaste vv 3.0.

My tactic this time was to keep a pack of smokes with me and not tell anyone that my goal was quitting. It took a lot of pressure off...psychological thing. When I got really stressed at work, I'd throw in the towel and succumb to my addiction. For weeks and weeks I played this game with myself. Today, all I did with that pack in my purse was give them out to co-workers who wanted to bum a cigarette. I just smiled and handed them out with a feeling of....well, good riddance!

Today was the first day I made it through an entire day without a cigarette. It's not the first time in my life but it's the first time in a long time after a 35 year love-hate relationship with them. I changed tanks and flavors like crazy all day but I DID it!! I don't know what tomorrow will bring. I'm taking this one day at a time.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who shares their stories and expertise on these boards! Without you, I wouldn't have known about MVB's cinnamon roll. :)

I started out just over 3yrs ago one day at a time. As time went on cigarettes quickly became a faint memory. Make sure you have backups and more backups. One of the biggest things that helped me along especially at first...Don't Pressure Yourself. Everyone is different. I was very fortunate and never put another cigarette to my lips once my starter kit arrived.

If you find yourself having too many cravings just up you nicotine strength for awhile.

Congratulations. What helped me was not having any cigs around and convincing myself that my body only needed the nicotine which vaping delivers.
Stay with it. It only gets easier.

Congrats, Ms.Cruzer!! I'm wishing smooth sailing for you from now onward in your quest to kick the cigarettes!! Some days are harder than others, but it gets easier and easier, especially with a good device and flavors you like. I too use the iTaste vv3s, among other things; they are among my favorites! MVB's cinnamon roll is good too; it was one of the earliest flavors I tried and I still have some of it. I like to switch flavors throughout the day and have done this since day 1. Works for me.

to ecf and please be proud of yourself for cutting back to three a day even. That is an accomplishment. Often times we are so much harder on ourselves than we really need to be. (I'm including myself in that category). I think now that you have really made up your mind it will be a lot easier. Definitely having several good juices are an advantage but you may even find it helpful to keep a juice available that is higher nic than what you usually use. That way if nerves get bad or temptation is there, you have another line of defense available. Just a suggestion. You will find all the information you need here and all the support you can handle too. I wish you well and hope to read more posts about your successful vaping. Good luck. :)

Congratulations! The first day is the hardest one. Like someone else mentioned above, not having any cigarettes and vaping a lot helped me. It's much easier to just pick up the e-cig than to get up and go to the store to buy a pack of smokes.

I switch flavors a lot, too, and I keep some juice with a higher nicotine level around for the really bad cravings.

Great story, and believe it or not, it's a success story.
It doesn't always happen overnight for everyone.
You made it through the transition trial, and you are now smoke free.
Just wait a month or two until you taste buds come back ... a real eye opener.
Ditto on keeping a higher nic juice handy ... sometimes the data in you brain catches on to what's happening, and try's to go back to the old programing.
Grab a few healthy vapes, and tell your self "later" if a desire pops up to smoke.. it satisfies the brain, (it's willing to wait), and then it forgets about it.
Weird, but it works. ... I do that with food
Congrat's, and welcome.
