I'm still trying to dial in my Magma to where I like it, especially since I just picked up an IPV2. Currently running dual 28 gauge, 8 wraps on a 2mm screwdriver, just under .7 ohms. Not entirely pleased with it, dual coil .5 ohm was a little better. Next one I'll try is a dual parallel 30 gauge build.
I've also been using single coil around 1.0 ohm, with both airflows wide open (I'm a lung hitter). Worked too well, actually - the flavors I've been using were too sweet and tasted all the nuances, including the bad ones. Definitely a set up for premium juices. If you're a mouth to lunger, this is the setup for you, especially with a VW mod. With a single coil at 1.0-1.5 ohm, it's a satisfying vape at 15 watts or so - probably the only RDA I'd ever throw on an MVP. Good throat hit, really strong flavor, and acceptable vapor production.
Lower resistance dual coils throws a good bit of vapor somewhat at the expense of flavor. Less vapor than a Tobh, but better flavor. Single coil at low watts is giving me plenty of flavor and throat hit, sometimes too much, and vapor production is less.
Overall, this atty is absolutely not a one trick pony - it's versatile. Plenty of options to try out, suiting your particular preference. I'm a lung hitter, and I like a lot of vapor, and it works for me. It's not a cloud chaser atty, but it can throw some good vapor. When I switched from smoking, I was mouth to lung, looking for flavor and throat hit. If that's what you're after, it'll do that too. If you're a Kayfun user, this is the RDA for you.
Oh, and if you're just chasing clouds, just pick up a Tobh and throw on some thick gauge dual parallels and cheap VG
juice.
