First Duke-a-like, need some input from the more experienced.

I am ordering parts for my first DIY mod, using the video Goss put up for building a Duke. I am planning on using Sony VTC4 18650 batteries, will these be ok? Also sometimes I see designs with caps and resistors, in Goss' video he doesn't seem to use them, are these needed or can I just follow along with the video and be fine? Finally, I want to put a digital display in that shows what the VV is adjusted to, to do this I'd put it between the chip and 510 pin, correct?

EDIT: Inside of a Duke
Just an OKR-T/10-W12-C build in a Hammond 1590G box. Here's the build video

A link to the Duke would be nice so we can see what you are referring to. I set up all my meter, so thru a on off on switch they read both battery voltage and output voltage.

Added a pic and video to the OP. For your meter how do you wire it up? I'm imagining a 3 way switch one for output, one for battery voltage, one for off?

I'm in the process of putting mine together. First things first, you want to use batteries that have a 15A discharge or lower. Since the regulator monitors the amperage coming in from the batteries and doesn't monitor the voltage, it can drain the batteries down too far because the chip keeps pulling amperage that it needs to operate. So, you want to use batteries that aren't high in amp discharge. I'm using Panasonic PDs. As far as digital display screens, I have no experience there. Good luck with building this mod. Here is a good DIY step by step that Mamu made for the Dena to help with the wiring schematic of the OKR-T10.
